The Girl who caused the War (Tom Riddle)

Chapter five

Tom Riddle is a loathsome cretin.
That is all.

Just a little news on the 'Riddle' riddle. I have never in my whole entire life hated a person more. I have never in my whole entire life hated my own brain more for obsessing over this puzzle so much more than any before.
I'll obviously never say any of this to his face. Merlin knows i would never. But this Tom really tests my patience. Lucky for him i have a lot of it.

You know how i said there were a few Slytherins who were insufferable, intolerable beasts. That's him.

'Dirty Mudblood' spits Riddle, barging past myself and Rubeus, not even taking notice of the boy already towering over everyone in the corridor.

'Nice to see you too Riddle' i shoot back, the overly sweet tone of my voice making him snap his head round to me. Anyone else would be scared of him but realistically, he's just a boy with an ego.
'You're about as pure as Salazar slytherins last shite.' which earns a giggle from both this possé and the gathering crowd around us, most of whom are Ravenclaws and Gryffindors, as the Hufflepuffs skirt around and keep to their own.
To my surprise, Riddle's smug expression slightly falters at my purity comment. I definitely saw it, but i'm not sure anyone else did. Just as quickly as his expression fell, it is rebuilt. Another piece for the puzzle.
'Feeling brave are we? The sorting hat should've saved us the trouble, put you in Gryffindor. They seem to accept filth like you.'. This recieves a giggle from Olive Hornsby, his little stalker.
But when he begins to stalk toward sweet Rubeus Hagrid, my Hufflepuff loyalty kicks in and before i realise we're firing jinx's and spells back and forth. He must hear Mcgonagall's shoes down the hallway behind me before i do, because he gives me a quick wink, before intentionally not blocking my last spell, letting him catch it in his right shoulder.
'Miss Tarros!'
