One bright morning as The Grymp was following her sharp nose through the wood in search of a bite to eat, she saw a blue songbird on the limb of a tree overhead. This was by no means the first songbird of any color The Grymp the had ever seen.
However what actually caught The Grymp's attention this time and made her stop for a second look, was the fact that the lucky blue songbird held a large chunck of cheese in her beak, which made The Grymp her day.
The Grymp: *Whispers to herself* No need to search any farther, here is my breakfast...
The Grymp suddenly gets an idea. So up she trotted to the foot of the tree in which the blue songbird was sitting, and looking up admiringly.
The Grymp: Good-morning, beautiful creature!
The blue songbird, her head cocked on one side, watched The Grymp cautiously and suspiciously, but she kept her beak tightly closed on the cheese and did not return her greeting.
The Grymp: What a charming creature she is! How her feathers shine! What a beautiful form and what splendid wings! Such a wonderful bird should have a very lovely voice, since everything else about her is so perfect. Could she sing just one song, I know I should hail her "Queen of Birds" title!
Listening to these flattering words, the blue songbird suddenly forgotten all her suspicion, and also her breakfast. The blue songbird wanted very much to be called "Queen of Birds" for a very long time now.
So she opened her beak wide to utter her loudest caw, and down fell the cheese straight into The Grymp's burlap bag that's on her back. The blue songbird came back to her senses has she realizes what she has done.
The Grymp: *Turns to the blue songbird and smirks* Thank you. Though it is cracked you have a voice sure enough, but where are your wits? The flatterer lives at the expense of those who will listen to them. *Leaves*
