Off was finally free now.

After a long, long day at work, Off was finally done for the day. He had a lot of work and since,  his new secretary was such a clumsy person. Off had to re-do all the files Punn had submitted. Off could've asked Namtaan to do it but the poor girl was already drowning in her usual work.

Off was currently in his car, heading back home while enjoying the chill night breeze. The radio was playing some smooth romantic song. The view, the song and the mood. All these were perfect for a long drive with someone special with you.

Off sighed. All these were wishful thinking. Of course, he didn't have time for such small, insignificant things. He had his whole life planned out. Romance wasn't part of it.

But what could Off do? He was a hopeless romantic. He had always believed that when he'll meet his soulmate, he'll hear bell ringing from heaven.

Off smiled to himself, feeling his heart fill with warmth at the thought of his soulmate. His soulmate must be waiting for him too.

But then again, Off didn't have time for things like these. Or so people around him said.

As Off parked his car,  he noticed another car parked in front of his mansion which wasn't his.  A bit confused,  Off went inside.

As soon as he came in,  Jimmy, one of his Butler helped him take off his overcoat and took the bag from Off's hand.

"Welcome back, Sir. " Jimmy greeted Off. "You have company-"

Before Jimmy could complete, an obnoxious scream came, " OFF ~ !! "

Off already knew who it was. Mild.

"How many times have I told you Jimmy to not let strangers inside the house?" Off asked, complete ignoring the now hugging his arm,  Mild.

"Jane is not a stranger, Off. " A voice spoke from the dinning hall.

Off turned towards the voice. "Dad?  What a surprise!  How come you are here and didn't even tell me? " Off smiled at his father who was now approaching Off and still being ignored Mild.

"Oh, keep that act to yourself! How can you call Mild a stranger? She's your childhood friend." Off's father said,  not really angry but rather with disappointment.

Mild's father was Off's father's business friend. Ever since Off was young till recent years, they had always spent most of their weekends with Mild's family. And if that wasn't enough, Mild and Off had attended the same middle and High school. Mild was always present in Off's life.

" Childhood friend?  More like forced acquaintance." Off mumbled loudly, to let the others hear.

"Not only friends! I'm also your future wife. " Mild huffed,  still clinging to Off's arms.

"How many times do I have to tell you that I'm not get married to you? " Off was frustrated. He had just come back from his office and now he had to get tortured with this same argument.

"But-"

"Jimmy,  no need to prepare dinner. I'm too tired to eat. " Off cut Mild off and spoke to his Butler.

Now,  he turned to his father and asked, " Dad,  I just came back home from a long day at work. Can we do this tomorrow? "

Not waiting for an answer,  Off turned and left the room towards his bedroom which was on the first floor.

As he was climbing the stairs which led him to his room, he faintly heard his father say, " It's late, Mild. You should go back now."

Convinced that he was able to get rid of Mild, Off victoriously entered his room. He took a quick shower, changed into his comfy PJs and fell on his bed. His whole body was aching from sitting in his office chair all day.

Off closed his eyes, slowly drifting into the world of dreams. A soft knock on the door woke him up. He got up from his bed and opened the door.

Off's father was standing there, waiting for Off to let him inside.

Off just looked back at his father in confusion. He was too tired to use his brain.

After a couple of seconds of this staring contest, Off's father finally said, " Aren't you gonna let me in or do you want to talk in the hallway?"

Silently, Off just turned away from the door, leaving it open for his father.

Off sat down at the edge of his bed while his father sat on the chair, pulling it closer to the bed so that he and Off were face to face.

" I know it's late but I need to talk to you. That's why came here at the first place. Coincidentally, Mild wanted to come too, so that's why she tagged along." Off's father said, looking at Off with a serious look.

" Hah! She's always willing to come here. " Off mumbled, not really looking at his father.

Ignoring Off's comment, his father continued, " Listen, Off. Your father is not getting any younger and neither are you. The company is doing well right now so, It's time for you to get a life partner."

" Dad! How many times do I have to tell you? I AM NOT GETTING MARRIED TO MILD." Off said loudly, the sleep and tiredness in his body vanished.

" I just don't understand why you are rejecting Mild? You used to like her too. I remember how madly in love you were." His father continued, now with a sad smile. " When your mom was here, she liked Mild too."

" Oh, quit using the 'when mom was here' card. You're talking as if she's dead. Now I know why she said she was divorcing you because you always pulled one small thing for too long. " Off said, looking at his father with a small smirk, knowing that he was slowly winning this argument.

Seeing that his father was lost for words, He continued with his last argument against marrying Mild, " And I used to like Mild before I found out that I like men."

" Before you found out that you like men too." Off's father corrected his son, hanging from the last bit of hope in convincing his son.

" Yeah, yeah. I like girls too but that doesn't mean I like Mild." Off replied.

" Off-"

" Dad, its late. I'm tired and have only slept for 2 hours last night. I'm not marrying Mild. End of discussion." Off said and fell down on the bed, closing his eyes.

Off heard his father huff in annoyance and walk out from his room.

As his father was about to close the door, Off called out, " Good Night, dad."

" Good Night." Off's father replied with a pout and closed the door.

Off had a smile on his face as he fell asleep.

His last thoughts were about how his father was so aged but still acted so childish sometimes.
