"Hey, is Jaemin awake?" Jeno stood in front of Jisung who had opened the door for him. The prince had a basket filled with fruits and vegetables in his hand, Jaemin's favorites to be exact. He made sure to leave the strawberries out although it was one of his own personal favorites.
"Yes, he's in his room. Come in." Jisung invited him inside by stepping aside, Jeno slipped off his shoes and made his way to the room he was so familiar with. When he opened the door he saw Jaemin with the familiar threads in his hands. Jeno smiled at the memory of making bracelets together. He always wore it under his sleeve since his parents would snip it off as soon as they would see it.
"Hey Jaem." Jeno greeted with a small smile on his face. He was here to make him feel better. The younger boy was very sad lately with everything that has happened. "How are you feeling?" Jeno continued as he sat down on Jaemin's bed.
"I'm feeling better, I guess," Jaemin answered with a smile. Jeno held his hand. He rubbed Jaemin's palm with his thumb to comfort him. The action made the younger blush. All of this was still new to him, but he didn't hate it, at all.
"When do you think you'll be ready to hear the whole story?" Jeno asked carefully as he looked deeply into Jaemin's eyes to try to catch his emotions.
"You can tell me now. I'm ready," Jaemin said almost with too much vigor as he tightened his grip on Jeno's hand. He wanted to know the full story, he didn't want to stay in denial forever.
"So basically I really wanted to know the reason you were ignoring me because it saddened me a little... Scratch that, it saddened me a lot." Jeno admitted, which made Jaemin pout.
"I thought you wouldn't care. If I knew it would make you that sad, I wouldn't have done it," Jaemin explained as he placed his head on Jeno's shoulder. Jeno used his free hand to brush the hair off of his forehead.
"I know Jaem. I asked Donghyuck what was happening with you. At first he didn't want to tell me, but when he understood I only wanted to help he gave in and told me everything. We made a plan to save you, we made it together. He wasn't supposed to... pass away." Jeno's voice slightly cracked. It was hard to say it out loud. His death wasn't something he liked to talk about because it was partly his fault and he felt extremely guilty.
"The plan was to stab you with a magic sword since infersouls and infervamp can be killed that way. We didn't expect for it to simply get out of your body and still be alive," Jeno continued. Jaemin's eyes started to water again, but he wouldn't let himself cry.
Jeno cupped his cheek softly and made Jaemin look up at his face. Jaemin stared up at him with puffy cheeks from the deep sleep he had just a few minutes ago. He looked gorgeous to Jeno and probably to anyone to walk on this earth.
"I always wondered how come your soul didn't become an infersoul like how everyone else's does when they get attacked. I think I know the reason now though. You're too pure, too genuine and sweet for you to become a monster. You have a strong soul Jaemin. You were able to fight a monster, and that's pretty cool if you ask me." Jeno said to try to bring Jaemin's mood up.
"I guess you could say that." Jaemin nodded as if to show Jeno he was agreeing with him. Jeno inched Jaemin's forehead towards his lips. He kissed the younger's forehead gently and gave him his usual eye smile after.
"You look cute when you smile," Jaemin teased with a smug smile. Jeno looked to the side shyly, unable to stop smiling because of the compliment. Jaemin laughed at him as he wrapped his arms around Jeno's waist.
"Are you able to function properly now?" Jeno asked Jaemin.
"I can get up and walk around and do stuff, but I'm still very weak. God, as much as I hated being too strong, now it's as if I have no strength at all. I can't even run without feeling exhausted," Jaemin complained. He really did have a hard time adapting to his new strength.
