The Doorkey

that's an angry grin

that you're sporting

thought you'd hit it with gin

before you hid the doorkey

the sign says stop

but you just keep going

so say your sorry when you spin

out in firy oil

no discerning showing

all i see is burnt hair

what's that you're holding, well,

nobody cares as

long as they're hording their share

now stay inside

with the shades closed

live by the candle's light

until night's the same as day's pose

wearing all the same clothes

dripping bloody rainbows

the candle warms you up

but your heart stays cold

like they told you

at the hospital

it takes some time

because their not sure

what's wrong at all

they're worried what they'll find

what's the hurry here?

we both know what you left behind

she never did you harm

with more than enough charm

can't call her daughter now

someone else went and bought her out

I know you miss her, your nervous

but it's up to the services

so go find your purpose, it's perfect

to search for what may hurt us

let's call it a courtesy

all dressed up in bergundy

superficial statuses

make this less of an urgency

I know once you've had it

leaves it hard to go back

never seen you so glad in

white satin and mercury

it's a poison for the blood

but that gleam in your eye

says you still believe in love

it's enough to try it once

constant addiction

I see you're on the hunt

on your chase for fiction

there's a pile full of christians

riled up for no reason

they got it all covered

but their points still missing

hypocritical prison

whose feet are they kissing

I only bring them up

because you listen to their bitching

we're all fucked souls

we're all too bold

might as well give up now

because the devil has his hold

and you would know

it figures you would know

those dark trips you go down, down, down

you think you hold friends

but you're unsure

you're always unsure

while up in your head

it's you against the world

branded with a microphone

but your voice is unheard

stranded in a classroom

but nothing new learned

it's a miral of sanity

but barely sanitary

a fixed up anatomy

a face that's been harried

those memories you carried

have all been buried

now you forgot you had any

and lost the cemetary

just a ghost still living

your voice is slightly distant

those eyes always glisten

in one single instance

that weakness

it pulls you

it pulls you down

loved ones are heedless

but are starting to know now

lost in a needle

goals only menial

your daughter she sees you

but your glare appears mean though

dark circled eyes

make it hard to break free so

keep those small tasks

like it'll bring your life back

before that car crash

when you were free from the flask

you would know, wouldn't you?

it figures you would know

those dark trips you go down, down, down
