It was the new boy from school. I laughed to myself, rememberin' the lie I told him earlier.

By this time, Jamila and Amari was across the table dyin'.

I put my attention back on my food. "Stop lookin' at me and eat please." I said aloud to them, not once lookin' back up from my plate.

"Ready." I announced so my client could come to the chair.

"Hey, how ya doin?" I asked the girl in my chair.

"Makin it." I mumbled. "What can I get for you today?" I asked her and she pulled out her phone, showin' me the quote she wanted. This too shall pass.
