"You can't leave him frozen, Stark. It won't help anyone. It especially won't help him." Steve Rogers was sitting on the opposite side of the Tony Stark's desk. There was still so much tension between them, but both of them were still currently at the compound. Rogers was going to try everything to bring his best friend home.
America's hero didn't like the idea of his friend being frozen again until they figured out how to 'fix' him. That's why he was desperate to bring him home. If he was at the compound, they could give him therapy whilst figuring out how to get Hydra out of his head.
"I've told you, Rogers, I'm not allowing him here. Now would you kindly leave my office, before I make you leave my office." Tony hadn't looked up from the paper work that he was doing. He thought that it was good enough that he was allowing Steve to stay at the compound, but letting the monster who killed his parents back? No way.
"This is ridiculous, you know that, Stark? He could be such a great help to us, and you're just going to blow him off because he was brainwashed? That's stupid, even for you?" Steve was getting bored of this but he wasn't going to give up.
This cycle had been going on for the last month, as the two healed from their fight. Four weeks of Steve continuously arguing with Tony about bringing back Bucky. Four weeks of the other Avengers leaving the room whenever either of them walked in whilst the other was already there. No one could be bothered to sit in there anymore whilst they argued.
However, this time was different, Steve hadn't left Tony alone since the moment he woke up, and that was at six am. It was now one in the afternoon. Rogers hadn't eaten, hadn't been to the toilet, hadn't done anything to do. The way it was going to end was a lot difference too.
"Come on, Stark! He's not going to hurt anyone. He was brainwashed!" Tony was about to open his mouth to speak but found himself distracted from the argument by his phone ringing. It was his mobile. Barely anyone called his mobile whilst he was here. He didn't feel like blasting this phone call out loud, he'd seen the caller.Tony's sister was someone who he wanted to protect with his life. Even if her conception was a huge rock in her parent's marriage, he couldn't help but love his younger sister. Half-sister. She was the result of his father's affair with a women from New York. Penelope was the light of Tony's life. But she never got a chance to meet their shared father, Tony's parents had died a week after Penelope's mother had told Howard about the pregnancy.
He might be seventeen years older than his sister but that doesn't mean that he was any less close to her. Their joint family ignored her existence, and her mother's family had kicked her out. That meant that Tony and her mother were all Penelope had.
Tony stood up from the desk as his face became more worried than annoyed. He wasn't saying anything except the occasional "mhm" and "right". Steve just rolled his eyes and sat on the desk as Tony walked round it to pick up his jacket. "Is she alright? I'm on my way." Stark headed towards the door, yelling something at F.R.I.D.A.Y and a few of the other Avengers.
He was now moving around more stressed and gathering people up, Steve followed him and continued to bug him. As Tony got to the door he turned around and yelled "Fine! Just keep him the fuck away from me and my stuff!" With that, Tony was gone.
And Steve was happy. Bucky was coming home. Steve immediately left for Wakanda.
