Hailey's pov
It's not the same. Sleeping in our bed. Alone. Cold. When JC and I first got home, I was told that Phantom and Monkey have taken care of the house, an changed the bedding. I've been laying on his side, and sleeping in his shirts. I dont want to get out of bed. I haven't been at work. Good thing Shawn let me have two weeks off. I have to get out of bed today and get dressed. Phantom insisted I get out of the house. At noon I decided to drag myself out of bed. I took a shower and washed everything. I then went an got dressed. As I put on my shoes there was a knock on the door. I grabbed my phone, and went to it."Hey." Phantom says.
"Hey." I say.
"Are you ready?" He asks.
"Ready as I'll ever be. It's not easy." I say walking out, and locking and shutting the door.
"I cant imagine how it must be for you but I know it's not easy." He says as we walk to his truck.
"It may never be easy." I say.
We then got into his truck. I then played with Chris' ring. Well one of them. I still had on my wedding ring.
"Where would you like to get food from?" He asks.
"Sonic. That's all I want." I say.
"Sounds good to me." He says.
"I had this dream. The night when he was buried. I may sound crazy but, he was in it... He told me that one day, I would love again. That he was my first love, I'd find my true love... Before I woke up, he kissed me and that kiss felt so real." I say.
"Dreams like that are a sign you know?" He says.
"I know. I mean yes I get I'll move on but not now. It may take a month, may take a year. What's meant to be will find a way." I say.
"Your right." He says as we pull in. We pulled into a stall.
"Cheese sticks, marinara sauce, fries, and a Dr. Pepper right?" He asks.
I smile. He knows my favorite.
"Yep." I say.
He then ordered our food and as I was pulling out my card, he paid before I could say anything.
"I coulda payed." I say.
"Its fine Hails. Plus, I promised Kentucky I would help take care of you." He says.
