"Flynn we've been over this." About a million times already. "I know but!" She can't keep doing this. I have school work. "No butts. Me, my dad, and Aunt Victoria have already decided." I cross my arms to making things final as if she'd give up that easily though. With a pout of the lip and the fluttering of lashes, I'm in her grasps.

"You've been trying to get me into music all week. I don't think what you have up your sleeve this time will work." She gives me a big smile and almost immediately I'm engulfed. "You didn't say no!" Even though I should've.

"Let's hurry! I want to give you a feel of the place before the first song starts." "Okay but I have to go through my mom's studio, after!" She just keeps pulling me along, doesn't matter if I'm talking or not that's just how she is.

"Where are we going?" She doesn't answer but rather stops walking. I nearly tripped on the broken sidewalk. "Here." Pushing the door open we step in. It's like a hipster's dream place. "A coffee shop. How fun." I let go of her hand, letting it smack into her. If she wanted to get coffee she could've just gotten it by herself. "It's not JUST a coffee shop. They have a featured artist every hour."

"So a coffee shop with live music. Great." I take a seat at a table for two, right next to the large glass window beside the door. Just in case I need to leave. "Oh! This should be their last song. I wonder who's next." I laugh at her curious toe, she acts as if it's a mystery. "Hey, ten bucks says it's the guy with the sleeveless hoodie." Sleeveless hoodie? She motions towards the guy in front of us. Blue hood, short white sleeves, well built. "Luke?" He chuckles and stands up. He and the performer before him exchange high fives. I watch him grab a guitar near the stage and walk onto it. Why didn't he tell me he played? I know we just met the other day but...

My head turns towards Flynn, a big grin on her face. She didn't. My heart pounds as my eyes focus back onto Luke. Before he even gets a single cord in I stand up. "I can't do this.'

"What?"

"You set this up! You set him up." I let my chair fall back. She got someone to play a role all so I would come. Did she think I would stay? Did she really not believe I could play? I'm about to walk out but before I can get my hand on the knob I hear my name. "This song goes out to Julie. Who I hope will sing with me?" Flynn. "I can not believe you!" I turn towards her, eyes burning. I don't usually cry but this. This is unspeakable. "I have no idea who that is. And how does he know your name?" She stands up just to jab me with an accusing finger. She won't even admit to what she did.

"My fault? I didn't even want to come here!"

"For a reason apparently. So you have a secret boyfriend now!"

"I just met him. You're the one who put him up to this."

"YOU!" She lunges towards me, clinging to my hair. If she wants to go then we can go. I grab tight onto her braids, she should make it so easy for people to grab her! I pull and pluck while she shakes and tears. I'm not sure what happened next but it's only minutes before I'm walking home with Luke.

"I didn't know you were going to be here." Sure he didn't. I walk head, letting my steps widen, but so does he. "I just wanted to hear you sing. I've heard you before and your amazing." So he's a stalker now. "Remind me why you're here?" I dart a quick glare at him before we come up to the steps of the house. Plants line the entrance and though I always stop to take in the scene, today I'm not feeling it. "You can go now."

"I'm sorry. I'm not sure why you're so mad though." Mad? Mad doesn't begin to describe how mad I am. "My best friend lied to me and someone can't seem to take a hint. Everyone's so sure that I'll snap that they just want to get over with. Huh? Is that what this is?" I take a step closer to him. I may not be threatening and I may not be tall but if there really is a god they know I'm about to give as much pain as I've gotten this year to this complete and utter...

"I'm sorry." Will he ever stop saying that? "Can you just stop? Stop pretending. Stop pretending you understand, you just met me. I don't know what Flynn told you but she obviously doesn't understand either." I glance back behind me one more time but just like at the shop, I stop on the handle. "You're right. I don't understand." The one truth I've heard all day. "So why don't you make me understand." And yet it's still a lie. "YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND!"
