The rain began to fall in the late afternoon. 'It's weird how it could be so gloomy at a time like this.', you thought. Nobody in the team was talking at all, even though they have just won a match. You sat patiently in the bus beside Momoi who was looking blankly at the window. "Hey ___..", she suddenly spoke up. "Do you think that this team is worth cheering?', she asked. Your eyes widened at her choice of words. "What are you saying Momoi-chan?", you whispered to her. "Nevermind, forget about it ___", she smiled sadly shook her head. "By the way, it's almost graduation day. What school are you going to attend?', you switched the topic. "Hm, maybe I'll join Aomine. That idiot can't handle himself.", she smiled. "What about you ___, are you joining Akashi?", she joked. "Ha? What?", you were surprised. "I don't really know yet.", you said. "You better decide soon ___", she advised.
As you were walking home you spotted cardboard box. A faint sound was heard from it. Giving it a glance you saw that it was full of kittens. Being a pet lover you lifted the kitten up and inspected it. "How cuute~!", you said in awe. You looked into it's eyes and saw that it had two colors; blue and green. "You remind me of Akashi", you smiled to yourself. With a sad face you placed him back in the box and apologized, "I can't keep you. I'm sorry". It just looked at you with a pelading stare. You placed your umbrella on the box and gave it some of the leftovers from your lunch.
GRADUATION DAY
After a long boring ceremony which almost brought you sto sleep you went to the basketball gym to say our farewells. "We are no longer teammates...", you heard from the inside. 'That voice, it's Akashi!", you peered on the slight opening of the gym door. "Next time we meet, it would be in the court.", Akashi stated. They looked at each other menacingly and nodded their heads. 'What are they talking about?', you thought. You leaned closer to the door, but then it suddenly opened. You fell right onto your face on the floor. "Ouch it hurts..", you said as you stood up. Looking up you saw that it was Akashi. "Ahahahaha I'm sorry", you laughed nervously. There was something odd, instead of glaring at you like he usually does he just looked at you with a calm expression. "Hm, what is it Akashi?", you asked. "N-nothing I better get going now.", he looked down and started to walk away. "Ah~! That reminds me, what school are you going to attend?", you asked with a smile. He was just eerily quiet. Trying to shrug it off you kept on smiling, "This might be the last time I'm going to see you.", you continued. "The truth is that I--". "That you like me.", he suddenly cut you off. You froze and became full red. You were about to speak when he spoke. "You should throw out all your feelings, it doesn't matter to me. I already have someone that I like", he said while his back was facing you. "W-what did you say?", you asked your lips trembling. 'I feel a lump in my throat, it hurts so bad. I shoudln't cry..' "W-what do you mean? I don't like you at all..", you lied. He smiled sadly and muttered "Liar". After he was gone you fell to your knees, warm tears were soaking your uniform.
'This is the end?'
Akashi's P.O.V.
'I am also a liar ____,' he thought to himself as he walked to their car. "Seiju-kun~! Hurry Hurry!", I hear Mei call me from a distant. Once I got seated inside she quickly kissed my cheek. "Seiju-kun is amazing~! He graduated as a valedictorian!", she said. I don't feel happy at all, my chest feels painful. "Seiju-kun! What's the matter? Why are you crying?", she worriedly asked me. I wiped my cheek, it's been such a long time since I felt tears.
'I'm sorry.'
"Seijurou I would like you to meet Mei", my father said. Appearing infornt of the door is a little girl, about the same age as me. She looks awfully nervous. "She is the heir of the Shizuka company so I would like you to befriend her.", he told me. "N-nice to meet you, I'm Shizuka Mei", she reached her empty hand with me. In her other arm, she was carrying a toy rabbit. "Likewise, I am Akashi Seijurou", I shook her hand. That's where we first met.
On one night as I was walking down the hall I heard a conversation between the adults. "When the time is right, I would like to create a strong partnership between our sides by arranged marriage", my father said. I stared in shock, is this how adults think? I saw between the slightly opened door. Father has signed on a paper, Mei's parents did same thing also. I realized then that the adult's world are spun around by papers and handshakes.
5 years later
Until now I still think about the first girl that I have ever loved (except from my mother ofcourse). I still feel the sadness that I felt back then. I wonder where she is now, ah forget it. She probably has a boyfriend now. I won't lie, I admit that I still love her until now. But there's no point in saying that now, it's too late. Sometimes, I see the familiar locks of hair that she has, only to find out that she's not the one I'm looking for. I smiled at the thought of her.
BEEEP!
The car suddenly stopped, great. "Hey! You almost got me killed you know!", she slammed her fist on the front of the car. I quickly got out and was about to tell her off when she suddenly spoke.
"Akashi?"
Shintaro didn't tell me that it was a lucky day for Sagitarrius.
The End ?
A/N: Thank you so much for supporting my book! Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! If the ending wasn't your taste. I have a thing for sad endings >_< Maybe because I read too much tragic mangas. Thank you for all the people who supported this crap until the end! It was overwhelming for me because this was my first book ever. I hope you read my other creations too.
Until then my dears~! *flies off on a unicorn*
