when monroe, a fifteen-going-on-sixteen year old girl who happened to be a old buddy of dally finds herself tangled into the gang of boys, along with her friends, noel and jackie, she soon realizes she isn't alone in her coming of age stage as they all had their very own ins and outs and ups and downs. her opinion on people "not understanding" soon changes after she was enquired with the teenagers who were on their own. she wasn't the only fragile one, they showed her that, especially one boy, johnny cade. he showed her the peace she had always searched for. he changed her in ways she couldn't change but she wanted to that was the greatest gift a person could give to a girl like her.
