2 days later, morning of the funeral

third person pov

hinata's death has taken a toll on everyone, except suna and y/n. everyone was quiet, and only talked to each other when necessary. kageyama had it the worst. he still thought that hinata's death was his fault.

today is the day of the funeral.

y/n put on a black lace dress and black heels. she walked down the stairs and saw the back doors leading to the garden open.

everyone was either sitting and standing alone or were barely talking in small groups. y/n stood in the back behind the chairs alone until akaashi came up to her.

"how's kageyama?" she asked.

"not talking. he hasn't really been eating, and it looks like he's lost some weight," akaashi told her.

"as expected," she mumbled.

"the ceremony starts in about five minutes," he informed her.

"who'll be speaking?" she asked.

"daichi and bokuto," he answered.

"okay," she said quietly.

"you're talking more than usual, you know," he said.

"um.. no i'm not," she replied.

"you kind of are," he said.

"shut up," she replied.

i can't open up to them, and i can't grow close to them. the less i say, the better.

the more you deny something, the less likely it is to happen.

"everyone, please take a seat. the ceremony will now start," sugawara said.

y/n took a seat in the back, akaashi sitting next to her. suna was sitting in front of them quietly.

daichi stood in front of the stand with a microphone.

"hinata shoyo was a trainee of ours; he built strong friendships with everyone here, and tried to help in every way possible. hinata brought joy to every dinner and event we had. he was young, and taken from this world too soon," he said, his voice breaking a bit.

"i remember when he first came in, i thought he was weak. as always, he proved me wrong and surpassed my expectations. hinata was strong, mentally and physically. when we were in doubt, he convinced us that it'd all be okay. he'll be greatly missed by everyone here. even though he's not here with us physically, the memories of him will never die," daichi continued.

even though he was crying, he was smiling.

hinata brings happiness to them, even if he's not here. he really did mean a lot to them.
