Forgotten

The Task

I woke up to my alarm ringing.

"Turn that off already D!" Shouted Kylie from next door.

"Sorry!" I shout back.

I hit the off button and get ready for work. I've been working at Aliens for 3 years now. It's my birthday today by the way. I'm finally turning 18. Once agents a Aliens turn 18 they get to promoted to field agents. I have been waiting for the day for years. Aliens is like a home to me, ever since 3 years ago. You see, I lost my memory and woke up here. My co-workers are my family. But, I've always wondered what my past life was like. 

"Agent D" Said the General as I hurried into the office.

"Yes Sir." I say and solute.

"At ease."

"You wanted to see me, General?" I asked.

The General. To be more specific, General Kyle. He was in charge of assigning assignments. Hopefully I will be getting my first assignment today.

"Yes Agent D, I know your turning 18 today and the regulations states to make you a field agent but, I don't know if your ready for the task I'm about to give you." He explains.

Why wouldn't I be ready? I've been training 3 years for this day! I am WAY beyond ready.

"I am fully ready for this task, sir. I will not let you down! Plus, it's my birthday and I will totally love working as a field agent. That is, if you let me be one." I assure.

He nods and leads me to Central Quarters. In Central Quarters, they are many different types of agents. There are planning agents, desk agents, and nuke agents. I've only ever heard of the inside of Central Quarters so this is my first time here. 

"Welcome. To Central Quarters." he says.

"Here is your first task" he says and leads me to the planning room. There are hundreds of shelves stacked with old plans. Whenever they complete a plan, they save it as a trophy to show there is no match for us.

"You are getting the most challenging task of all. One that hasn't been completed yet. Many agents have given up on this case. So, are you willing to take it?"

I nod.

"Okay then," General Kyle says, then proceeds to explain.

"Your job is to locate and capture ONEX (ON-X). we have been trying to track them for 3 years already. ONEX is a group that has been creating red energy on a phenomenal level that no human can comprehend. So, if we capture ONEX we would be able to do anything. Thats how you help. You need to go to their last know location and figure out where they were heading. Once you find them, report back to us and we'll send back up to come and help capture them."

"That easy?" I ask.

"Don't be fooled by their common appearance. They might look human but I assure you they aren't. Are you ready to start the mission?"

"Yes sir."
