By the 3rd month of dating Uchiha Sarada, Boruto has already become use to the abuse. his pride and self-esteem has crashed through the floor and he started giving into her demands more and more.

The mental and emotional manipulation keeps getting worst and worst, though she hits him less when he gives in. at this point he didn't care anymore and just did whatever she asked, trying not to anger her as much as possible.

Not being believed by your friends and family when you're telling the truth is no different then being isolated, they're seeing a side of you that isn't true and you get punished for it regardless how much you try to convince them to listen.

She seen him like a dog or some animal she was training to behave how she wants. every time he did what she wanted she'd do something nice and get him gifts, make him a meal, etc. things to reward him like the animal she treated him like.

He hated it, hated that he was letting his control be taken away, he hated those stupid rewards. she started letting his relationship with everyone improve to the point they could talk without it turning into 'how can you call yourself a man and treat her that way' kind of fights.

The only one of his friends that he really still hangs out with was Mitsuki. he's his teammate, so it's not like he can really avoid him, plus it's not like he'd want to in a million years anyway, he's his best and most trusted friend.

But because of what happen with his other friends, he didn't even bother to tell Mitsuki how far the abuse has gone. only ever told him about the arguments, but never the abuse... and every time Mitsuki would comfort him.

Mitsuki let Boruto cry in his arms whenever he couldn't hold it in any longer, he never once said anything like the others have. and would stroke his back and whisper sweet comforting words into Boruto's ears.

Boruto felt so safe and secure as he was held in Mitsuki's arms. the blue hair albino always said he'd stay by his side, protect him if he ever asked or needed him, saying Boruto was strong and could overcome anything for he was the sun itself.

Ba-dump~ Ba-dump~ Ba-dump~

It was that strange feeling again, but this time Boruto didn't push it away. after so much pain and heartache, he needed to feel something different, something warm and protecting, something that with every fiber of his being said was right.

Boruto clung to Mitsuki refusing to let go, in that moment everything that's happened...even the rest of the world itself didn't matter. it was just him and Mitsuki. this warmth in his soul that said as long as he was here, he'd be at peace.

Slowly, the tears and hiccups that he cried into Mitsuki's chest stopped, as he started falling asleep. he felt Mitsuki lay him on the bed, whispering something to himself that Boruto couldn't hear as Mitsuki covered him with the blanket...
