"Working during a wedding reception? Uso rin ang pahinga, Psychs."

Rolling my eyes, I looked up from my phone only to see a grinning Roldan del Rosario looming over me. I squinted a little, my tired eyes adjusting to the weird bluish lighting illuminating the ballroom, and looked around me. Everyone's minding their own business-- a number of guests dominating the dancefloor, Barbs and our other friends on the far end of the room, drying the unlimited mobile bar, and me, catching up on my e-mail backlog for the past two days.

And of course, here's Dan, annoying me to no end.

Hindi niya talaga alam ang konsepto ng mind your own business.

"Hala, ang sungit na naman niya," he exclaimed before plopping on the chair beside me. "It's a Saturday, Psychs. And you're attending a fantastic wedding. Stop thinking about work."

"Sinilip ko lang ang e-mail ko. Wag ka nga, I saw you did the same earlier," I accused.

"Silip lang ginawa ko kanina. Ikaw naman, kanina ka pa nagta-type dyan." I was about to protest but he held up his hand to stop me. "Huling-huli kita, Psychs. I've been watching you for the past 10 minutes. Ni hindi mo naramdaman ang presence ko. I'm hurt."

His dramatic antics would trigger me to strangle him someday. "What do you want?" I asked cautiously.

"Nasaan na ang newlyweds?"

Ah, kaya naman pala. The wedding may be done and over with but his duties as the best man still continues. "Uhh wait. Parang nakita ko si Zades na lumabas kanina. Si Andreau hindi ko alam. Why?"

"Wala lang. Kanina ko pa kasi sila hinahanap. Ang init na ng ulo ni Mars." Tinuro niya si Mars na nasa kabilang side ng ballroom, galit na nagra-rant sa asawa niya. "They were supposed to take some pictures but..."

"Parang hindi niyo pa kilala ang dalawang 'yon. Where else could they be, right?"

"Oh shit. Don't tell me..." Dan finished his sentence with an exasperated tone. "Tangina, ibang klase talaga. Isang buwan naman ang honeymoon nila, hindi ba sila makapaghintay?"

Natawa ako nang malakas sa sudden prudeness ng kausap ko. Of all people in this ballroom, siya pa talaga ang may lakas ng loob at kapal ng mukha na ma-scandalize sa idea reception quickie ng mga kaibigan namin.

"Wow naman, Dan. Sa 'yo pa nanggaling yan ha?" I said, still laughing.

He shot me a deadly look. "Ah basta, lagot sila kay Mars mamaya. This is their second quickie today! They're really rabbits, I swear."

Tuluyan na akong nalunod sa tawa. Oh god, I could still remember the look on Mars' face earlier this morning when she practically dragged Zade away from Andreau's suite. Paano ba naman, imbis na maghanda nang maaga, na-tripan pa ng dalawa na magspontaneous "we're getting married today!" sex six hours before the wedding.

Sobrang wild talaga.

"Sus, bayaan mo na," I managed to say after my laughter died down. "Tapos na ang wedding of the decade. Let them fuck all they want. Legal na eh."

I wasn't kidding about the Wedding of the Decade part. Andreau really went all out for this one. As part of his wedding gift, he gave Zade the freedom to choose anything she wanted for their big day. Na nilubos naman ng best friend ko kasi holy fucking shit, she went all out on everything: from the color motif down to the reception table centerpieces, lahat Doctor Who-inspired. Even her wedding gown was bluish white! Naubos man ang kayamanan ni Andreau (his words, not mine), worth it ang lahat kasi umiyak si Zade during the wedding and reception. Ugh, I love them so much. FINALLY!
