"so you're sure you don't want me to pick you up?" abby asked into the phone while she was sitting at her desk finishing up her makeup, "it's seriously not a problem."

"my car is already at the rink, babe, and anyways, I have to run some errands and shower before I come over so I don't smell like hockey and the boys." jack told his girlfriend.

"this is the one time that I won't complain about you smelling gross if you just come over immediately!!" abby persisted into the phone.

jack couldn't help but laugh, "i won't be long, ab."

"you suck." abby said with a pout.

"someone's pouting." jack mockingly said, "does someone miss me?"

"i haven't gotten a hug or a kiss in a week, of course i miss you dummy!" abby exclaimed.

jack laughed, "i miss you too, sweetheart."

"is that my sister you're talking to?" abby heard trevor yell in the background. "hey abs, what's cracking sista?"

"are you drunk?" abby questioned her twin, "don't ever call me 'sista' again."

the entire team erupted with laughter, "wow, can i not miss my sis? whatever , see you in a few!" trevor said into the phone.

"we're almost at the rink, I'll let you go and I'll see ya in like an hour." jack said to abby.

"okay, hurry up! i want a hug!!"

jack laughed again, "ok bubs I'll be quick, love you."

"love you too rowdy." abby said before ending the call.

abby finished up her makeup and went to examine herself in the full length mirror beside her desk. she fixed the wrinkle in her leggings and re-adjusted jack's USA hockey hoodie that she had on before going to lie on her bed to wait for jack's arrival.

"hey trev! what's abby's favourite chocolate?" jack said as he stood up from his seat on the bus and turned to face the back of the bus where trevor was sitting.

"you don't even know your girlfriend's favourite chocolate?" cole caufield questioned his captain.

"yes, i do actually. i just wanted to know if she had any other favourites." jack sassily replied back.

"well if you know them then, what are they?" case mccarthy questioned.

"she likes mini eggs, hershey's cookies and creme bars, reese's peanut butter cups, and lindor." jack said with a smirk.

the entire bus turned to look at trevor awaiting his response to jack's list, "he's right."

"told you! i know ab better than i know myself." jack exclaimed.

"well, you did miss one." trevor spoke up and said.

jack couldn't help but look shocked, "she likes twix too."

the entire bus erupted with a chorus of ooohs, "fine, i didn't know that one." jack said.

after the bus finally quieted down, "why did you ask, hughes?" patrick moynihan asked.

"i'm going to surprise her with a few of favourite snacks and flowers when i go over tonight to make it up to her for being a complete jerk to her this week."

"kalyn told me that she was v UPSET this week with mr.captain over here." case told the bus.

"i know she was and i feel horrible so I'm gonna make it up to her." jack told everyone.

"how are you gonna make it up to her?" danny weight said with a wink.

"you're gonna have to do a little more than just a gift to make it up to her, rowdy." owen lindmark said with a smirk.

"a little something other than the cuddling you two always do?" alex turcotte added in.

"for your information.." jack started before trevor cut him off, "please do not talk about my sister that way, please, I'm right here."

the boys started to laugh, "don't go into ab's room tonight, trev." jack said with a wink.

"oh my goodness, i am out of here." trevor exclaimed right as the bus parked.

the boys filed off the bus, grabbed their hockey bags and luggage and went their separate ways.

jack threw his stuff into the back of his car and took off down the street to the closest target.

he quickly grabbed an assortment of abby's favourite snacks, a few other goodies, and a bouquet of roses before heading straight to abby's where jack quickly assembled the gift basket before heading up the front steps leading to the zegras family home.

jack had not even rang the doorbell when the door flew open to a very excited abby.

as soon as the door had opened wide enough for her to run through it, abby threw herself at jack, "hi j!"

"hey love." jack said as he wrapped his available arm around his girlfriend, "i missed you."

"i missed you too, hughesy."

abby finally pulled away and jack extended his arms to her, "is this for me?"

"yes. I've felt so bad that i was a jerk to you this week so i needed to make it up to you." jack said as he handed the basket of goodies to abby. "it's not a lot but."

"jack, you didn't have to do this! just because we had a fight, doesn't mean you have to buy me a gift." abby told jack.

"yes, i did."

"well, thank you even though you didn't have to buy me anything." abby said before engulfing jack in for another hug, "i don't have a gift for you though." abby pouted.

"just being with you is the best gift of all." jack said with a smile.

"you're cute, hughes. now, get inside it's too cold to be standing out here." abby said before extending her hand out for jack to hold.

the two walked inside and up the stairs to abby's room, "i like your hoodie, babe"

"thanks, some cute guy gave it to me." abby said with a smirk before she laid down on her bed, "come cuddle" abby said motioning for jack to come lie beside her.

jack kicked his shoes off and crawled in beside abby and wrapped his arms around her.

"i missed your cuddles." abby said as she rested her head on jack's chest.

"me too, babe." jack said before placing a kiss on the top of abby's head.

the two spent the majority of the evening intertwined in each other discussing jack's road trip and abby's week of school before the two fell asleep in each others arms.
