Ever since arriving in Orario, Bell had taken himself to a secret place to practise his muse. He was diligent in his practise and experimental every now and then

He of course told no one of it, for if he did, the ensuing chaos would be pandemonium. He wouldn't be safe

His grandfather had warned him, time and again, of the powers of this weapon and the potential repercussions of its unveiling

So no, Bell never even hinted at the existence of the weapon, for mortals are only allowed to possess a certain amount of power, which Bell very much exceeds when he uses it

So for quite some time now, Bell had kept his secret in the dark, wherein nobody suspected

Until inevitably, one day, he was discovered. Rather typical

oOo

As he wandered the desolate outskirts of Orario in search of a certain hero, Hermes heard something that must've only been produced by the Mousai

The sounds were enchanting, melodious, each chord picked at the strings of the heart and instrument

The voice's pitches were perfect, beguiling with each syllable and phoneme

The tempo, melody, rhythm, harmony, instrumentation, dynamic, texture, vocals, meshed and blended together like a sweet tea that warmed the soul in a blizzard

It was beautiful. Crescendo's that built up strength and motifs that announced the arrival of heroism

Hermes was under a charm far more powerful than any cast by a goddess of beauty. He'd had experience with that of course

It was a legato of purity

The song was a gentle breeze on a warm summers day or a hot chocolate on a cold winter evening. The vocals themselves were beautiful

"She is neither white nor brown

But as the heavens fair

There is none hath a form so divine

In the earth or the air"

Hermes was bewitched. He stopped and stood and listened to the gentle yet sad ballad that depicted a man being abandoned by his suitor for being too old. Story of my life (for legal purposes I must label that as a joke)

It was a song that Hermes hadn't heard before but it was most certainly his favourite now

When the song came to an end, Hermes was still trapped in a daze, reliving the song over and over in his mind

Hermes experienced divine clarity unlike any he'd ever experienced before. He hadn't known that Aoede or Melete or Mneme had descended from heaven but he definitely did now

His breath caught. He had to see them. Ask, no beg, for another song. To experience the delectable delight of their music

He ran, faster than he ever had before, over rubble and through ruins to the source of the song

Hermes found himself in a quaint little park area. A barrier of trees surrounded a sparkling pond which reflected the warm sunlight. In a gap in the trees there was a bench and on the bench sat somebody, facing the water

He was dressed in crimson, a robe that covered his body and his arms were brought up to his lap, where Hermes spied a Lute

Approaching, slowly and quietly, Hermes eyes didn't hold their usual squint but were wide open and his playful smile was a gawk of awe

"E-Excuse me"

The person jumped, having been startled by Hermes. Then they went rigid, as though they'd been caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Well, hand on Lute in this instance

Turning to the newcomer, Hermes saw his face

Hermes eyes and mouth widened even more. Insert foot, as they say

A silly short story I liked it he idea of

The song was "As You Came From The Holy Land" by Sir Walter Raleigh
