The two partners in crime quickly made it to the vehicle. Just in time as more people entered Ms. Lydia's store. Before Adam could back out of the spot, Lil surprised him with a kiss.
"Thank You. That was so awesome of you to do that for her."
"She deserves it and the Eastwitchians can go to hell. You believe one of them even had the nerve to ask me for a picture?"
"I believe it. Their loss. Oh poo!"
"What?"
"I wanted to make a sign for Aji." Lil put on her signature pouty face.
"I'll stop by the dollar store and you can run in and get something to make a quick sign."
"Thank yooouuuu!"
True to his word, Adam made a quick stop after Lil found a Dollar Tree not too far from them. She ran in to grab some smaller brightly colored poster boards and a huge black marker. Back in the vehicle she picked out the bright yellow one. She would wait until they parked at the airport to work on it. Lil already knew what it would say.
"Oh! Mom and dad say hello. They called while you were in the antique store."
"Ah! Hello!" Lil waved her little hand above her head.
"You are such a weirdo."
"Yup, better than a princess!"
Adam laughed at her. She had a very valid point.
"Hmm....Since you're as tall as a tree, will you hold the sign up for me?"
"Sure. And what will I get in return?"
"Oh my, this sounds like extortion!"
"Wahahahaa!"
"Put it on my tab."
"Will do!"
Lil's phone went off. It was Ajedi.
Aji: Landed!!
"They just landed. Perfect timing!"
"Yup. Let's go meet your brother and Joel!"
Adam drove to the short term parking area as Lil made a quick sign to get her brother's attention. Parked, they got out and made it into the terminal. Lil already knew that Adam would get stopped for photos and autographs, she was used to it. He was stopped twice by young kids and happily posed for photos with them. Lil ignored the flight board and went as far as she could go where her brother would be coming from. She waited for Adam to catch up with her. The area was packed with people waiting for arrivals. A lot of them had signs of their own. She was getting swallowed by the crowd, which is why she held tightly onto Adam's arm. He looked down at her and smiled as someone in the crowd took a photo of them.
"Oh! Here's my sign!" She handed it to Adam so he could hold it up over his head. He was so tall that there was no way Ajedi or Joel would miss it. Adam looked at what she wrote.
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah?"
Adam reluctantly held the sign up, slightly embarrassed. Lil had written just one single word.
'DoRk'
Holding the sign, Adam was attracting way too much attention for his liking. Lil didn't care one bit as she anxiously waited while struggling to see through the crowd. Soon her brother was in the vicinity.
"That little brat!"
Before she knew what was happening, Lil was scooped up in a hug. She yelped at the unexpected gesture.
