OCTAVIA SALVATORE, a beacon of hope and all good things. That's what she was to most of the people in her life, mostly her two older brothers who she loved dearly. They were both a pain in the ass, sure, but that never changed a thing.
Octavia moved back to Mystic Falls about two or three years ago, before her brother, Stefan showed up. Much like him, she needed a fresh start. Somewhere new-ish. She hadn't been there in over a hundred years so she figured why not?
It wasn't all bad. It was definitely different from the way she remembered it but it still.. felt like home, you know? she didn't feel out of place and much to her surprise, she fit in. She decided to attend school, she didn't know why but she wanted to, she really wanted to and she looked young enough. Technically, she was still sixteen.
Upon her arrival in Mystic Falls High School, she caught the eyes of many teenagers. Maybe it was her style, the way she dressed or how unbelievably attractive she was, she wasn't sure but she also caught the eye of a very ravishing blonde - the most popular girl in school, Caroline Forbes. And because Octavia caught the eye of this blonde girl, Caroline brought her two best friends along as well, who were both extremely beautiful but there was something else.
When she first met them, she felt like she couldn't breathe. Octavia met Bonnie Bennett, an extremely pretty girl with a bright smile and a polite attitude but that wasn't the issue - no, it was the girl standing next to her.
Katherine - she thought, she felt like she was going to explode and rip her head off right there, right in front of hundreds of teenagers but she didn't, not when she spoke.
"Hi, I'm Elena Gilbert."
Her voice - it was soft, polite and it didn't sound forced or manipulative like Katherine's did, if that even made any sense.
Octavia remember the first time she met Katherine Pierce. She was gorgeous, elegant and beyond stunning but underneath all that was a cruel, young woman. A manipulative one at that. Within minutes of meeting her, she could have you wrapped around her pretty little finger and that's exactly what happened when her two brothers met her.
Honestly, Octavia lost her brothers the minute they met the infamous Katherine Pierce.
"Hello? Are you okay?"
Elena Gilbert. That was the voice she heard and immediately snapped out of her thoughts. She didn't know how to explain it but the girl standing in front of her wasn't Katherine Pierce.
After two or three years of friendship with the three girls. Elena Gilbert, Caroline Forbes and Bonnie Bennett. They all became best friends, like really friends. She felt safe and good around them, she hadn't felt that in years.
Unfortunately about a week before her brother appeared, she got a call from an old friend, saying that he needed help laying low. Octavia had to leave, apparently it was real and serious danger for him so she did what any friend would do and went to go help. She told her three friends it was a family emergency and she needed to leave but that she'd be back.
What she thought would be days turned into weeks and then months. Octavia is finally ready to come home and when she mysteriously gets a text from Elena, telling her to meet her at her house before she goes home - let's just say, it wasn't at all what she was expecting to come home to.
