"Wait, are you Remus Lupin's son?"
Teddy glanced up. An older student was looking at him with interest. Teddy tried not to roll his eyes. He failed. He had been getting this a lot
"Wait, you're Remus Lupin's son?" said Hassan sarcastically "Oh my God! Shock! Horror! What a scandal!"
Teddy smirked
"Wait, Remus Lupin?" said the girl's friend "The war hero?"
"No" the girl looked at her friend like she was stupid "the Marauder"

Teddy, who had been taking a sip of his drink, paused. Slowly, he put the mug down
"You are, aren't you?" said the girl eagerly "They're the same person, right? I've read books about it"
Teddy raised an eyebrow
"I might be" he leaned back in his chair
Hassan blinked
"Sorry, what?"
The girl ignored him
"Are you going to do like what he did with the rest of them?" she asked with the same eagerness "It'll be ever so dull if you don't"
"Again, I might be" Teddy smiled
The girl clapped her hands together
"Really? What are you going to do?"
"Well if I tell you it wouldn't be a surprise, will it?"
The girl folded her arms
"Alright fine" she smirked "Well then, I wait with baited breath. Nothing fun has happened here in years"
Teddy smirked back. She wandered away with her friend

Hassan looked at him
"Okay, care to explain?" he said
"Explain what?" said Teddy
Dava and Owen came over and sat down
"Morning" Dava yawned
"Good morning. Do you know what a Marauder is?" asked Hassan "Teddy managed to have an inside joke with some he's never met"
"Marauder - someone who wishes to plunger or cause damage" Dava sounded like she was quoting something
"Do you just read the dictionary for fun?" Owen asked her
Teddy smiled
"Well I suppose that fits" he said, more to himself than his friends
"Fits what?" asked Owen
"My dad and his friends called themselves The Marauders while at school" Teddy explained "They pulled a lot of stunts during their time. Pranks and the like"
"They named their friendship group?" said Owen "They sound like dorks"
"I suppose they were" Teddy laughed "They called themselves by their nicknames in public too"
"...wow" said Owen "So what, you're going to carry on the family tradition, as it were?"
"Well it's hardly a tradition if we're only talking about one person" he folded his arms "though in fairness my mother wasn't exactly well behaved either..."
"Well?" Hassan prompted
"Yes, I am" he said simply

"Oh," said Hassan "do you not want us to join in?"
"No of course not" Hassan looked hurt, so he explained "I just thought... well I assumed that... you wouldn't want to join in"
"Why on earth not?"
"I dunno" he shrugged "rules and all that"
"Ah" Hassan made a noise that sounded like pffssss "Who cares about rules?"
"Well some of them make sense," Owen protested "You know, the ones about safety and all that"
"Well I have no intention of putting anyone's lives at risk, if that's what you're worried about," said Teddy
"Oh you aren't?" Owen raised an eyebrow "Then I'm in"
"Excellent" Teddy grinned "Dava?"
"Hmm?" Dava looked up from her breakfast "I wasn't listening to about half of that. Sure, why not. Sounds fun"
"Okay then"
Teddy ducked his head hide to hide the smile growing on his face. He hadn't realised until then how much the thought of being alone terrified him

"Where is he?" said Dava "he was the one who told us to meet here"
"Teddy?" Hassan looked up from A Study In Scarlet "He was in the library last time I checked. Said he had something to do"
"Like what?" Dava folded her arms "He was the one who came up with this concept"
The door opened
"Alright troops?"
Teddy came carrying a massive roll of parchment. He was grinning
"Troops?" Owen repeated, raising an eyebrow
Teddy blushed
"Yeah, I don't know why I said that"
"What's that then?" Hassan pointed to the roll in his arms
"Planning material"
He put the roll on his bed and spread it out over the covers. It was a detailed copy of Hogwarts castle and grounds. It had taken him hours
"I thought we could use it for planning"
"Blimey" Hassan breathed, coming over to study it "How on earth do you know the castle this well?"
"Uh, well, I-" his hair went hot pink
"Teddy, if you ever have to hide anything of actual importance, shave off all your hair" said Dava
"And maybe don't give all your friends detailed maps on day one and expect them not to ask questions" said Owen
"I, yeah, well" Teddy scratched the back of his head "I'm not very good at hiding stuff from people I like"
"Really, wow. I had no idea." Dava said dryly
