A/N: This isn't a long chapter. I have writer's block, don't judge me.
[Carley's POV]
Carley walks into the police station and up to the woman at the front desk, who's on her phone.
Carley: Uh, hello?
The woman looks up at her.
Woman: One moment, please.
Carley nods.
Woman: Okay... Thank you for calling. I'll be sure to get that in. Alright. Bye.
She puts down the phone.
Woman: What can I help you with?
Carley: Hi, my name's Carley. Uh, I was wondering if I could have a look at a particular file of teenager who was here recently?
Woman: Okay. How are you related to this person?
Carley: Uh... Well...I'm not.
Woman: I'm sorry, but I can't give out files to random--
Carley: I'm a reporter for Charleston News. We heard there was a teenager who recently escaped.
Woman: Oh... Well, uh, I could give you as much information as I can. Just give me a moment. She says, standing from her desk and begins walking off.
Carley: Thank you.
She stands at the front desk for a few seconds. She takes out her phone and opens it to reveal the message app opened. There're multiple texts sent to Clementine.
Texts: Clementine, please pick up. — Just tell me you're safe. — I won't be mad at you.
The woman comes back to the front desk with a file. Carley puts her phone away as the woman sits back down.
Woman: Alright.
The woman opens the file and starts reading it.
Woman: Y/N L/N. Age eighteen. Lives right here in Elkins with his father, Y/D/N L/N. Goes to school at Ericson's. His mother, Y/M/N, has never even set foot here in Elkins.
Carley: Where does his mother live?
Woman: She...huh.
Carley: What?
Woman: I think it was ripped out?
Carley: Can I see that?
The woman hands Carley the file. She looks at the file and notices a piece ripped out of the paper.
Carley: Would you be alright if I had a copy of this file?
