I followed that star until I couldn't see it anymore. I travelled all through Europe and into the Southern Hemisphere. That's when I couldn't see it. I found out that stars you may see back home, can't be seen on the other side of the world.

When I arrived in Australia, I was confused and had no idea what I was doing there. My family hadn't contacted me since before I left and I was honestly scared. I was on my own... if only I had at least another person to make me feel less alone.

I decided to travel to Brisbane, one of Australia's most well known cities. There, I settled for an AirBNB near the ocean. I went outside every night and looked at the stars. It was the only thing that made me calm. (Well, except for drinking tea and skateboarding!)

The more I explored, the more I fell in love with the culture and atmosphere. It took me a while to realise that the whole reason I connected with this star was because I needed to escape my life for a while.

I had originally thought that I was going to find a new romance, but it lead me to something greater... a sense of freedom.
