George's POV

"Listen, I'm not gonna stop until we find this stupid girl!" I flailed my arms in the air, frustrated.

"Shut up, George! You're stupid, it's 4 am, and even your fucking girlfriend fell asleep!" Nick yelled back at me. He got up and off the couch, walking to the room he claimed as his own. "Goodnight, I'm going to sleep, too."

"You're a quitter! Literally a quitter!"  I shouted after him as he tiredly stepped away, ignoring me.

"George, maybe you need some sleep, too," Clay added. "It's late, we're all tired."

"I... I'm not giving up-"

"It's not giving up to take care of yourself, dude. Get some sleep." I sighed and got up, walking to the shared bed of Corey and I. I could hear Clay's footsteps behind me, probably making his way to his room as I did to mine.

The day was hectic to say the least. Corey and I were tired and aching with jet lag, but I wanted to make her happy. This was another opportunity to do so. I didn't know the backstory with Natalia, but that didn't stop me from putting my heart and soul into finding her.

Every path led to nothing. Facebook? Cold. Twitter? Cold. Instagram? Cold. Tiktok? Cold, too. Everything felt hopeless. Cold, dark, and hopeless.

I woke up the next morning to Corey pacing back and forth in our bedroom. Even in a time like this I couldn't help but find her beautiful. "What are you doing, darling?" I asked her, my voice tired and raspy.

She stopped in her tracks, her head turning to me. "She... she DM'd me." My eyes widened as I shot up in my spot. Suddenly, I wasn't even the slightest bit tired anymore.

"What? Show me, oh my god!" She scurried over, sitting beside me. She unlocked her phone and showed me the screen.

Conversation with @msalli

@msalli: So, this is about to sound really weird, but I think I'm your sister.

"It's her, I know it is! Her account goes back, like, 3 years, all consistent with real photos of her," Corey explained.

"I believe you, I'm just shocked... oh my god." A chat bubble popped up on the screen with three dots, showing that she's typing.

@msalli: I came to Texas to see you.

Corey read the text, and I could tell she didn't know how to respond. Her free hand balled up and her thumb ran across the surface of the rest of her fingers, an anxious habit she has. She put her phone down and looked down to her lap. "What do we do now?"
