I had finally settled into sleep without fear for the first time in months. Being in Cedric's arms has brought a sense of security, made me feel safe. I didn't get to enjoy much of my blissful sleep, as I was awoken by a frantic voice

"(Y/n), please wake up, we have to go"

I opened my eyes and a jolt of fear hit my heart. I sat up quickly, looking around at the sound of screaming and crying that had replaced the singing, the once dark blue and grey field now shone orange from the light of fires emitting from the campground. Cedric pulled me up and grabbed onto my shoulder, trying to get me to move

"What's going on, Cedric?" I said, terrified
"Death eaters, we need to run, it's not safe here" he urged, and I nodded, taking his hand as we ran away from the burning tents. I thought of Hermione and Harry and Ron, and prayed they were safe, that they had managed to get away. I caught a glimpse of hooded figures through a gap in the trees, and gasped in horror at the sight of three muggles being levitated off the ground, the death eaters cackling madly. We continued down the path deeper into the forest and away from the commotion, and I was relieved when I heard Ron's voice ahead of me. I yelled ahead, and my three friends turned around quickly, wands drawn, but relaxed when they saw me.

"Thank god you're alright, (y/n)" Hermione said, hugging my tightly before giving Cedric a reproachful look as she pulled away. Harry hugged me even tighter, if that was possible, as Hermione started her scolding

"That was really really really irresponsible of you, Cedric, taking (y/n) out into the woods this late at night, I mean godric knows what's in this forest, she could've been hurt. Not to mention what would've happened if those death eaters would've found you"
"It's alright, 'Mione, calm down, I'm fine." I said, placing an arm on her shoulder.
"No, she's right" Cedric said, running a hand through his messy hair, " I don't know what I was thinking, really"
"Listen, we'll talk about this later, okay, right now we need to keep moving" I said, and they all nodded, moving down the path, which was becoming gnarlier with each step. I heard a muffled thump next to me as Ron tripped on a overgrown roof and fell on his face

"If you weren't such a good friend I would suggest we feed you to the death eaters" I joked, holding out a hand to pull him up
"It wasn't my fault" Ron said, dusting his pants off, "I tripped"
"With feet that size, hard not to" said a drawling voice from behind the trees. Malfoy looked considerably more relaxed compared to the rest of all, who were all out of breath from running. He stood alone, leaning against a tree with his signature smirk.

"Piss off, you undergrown albino" I retorted
"You better watch your language, Lestrange" he said, taking a few step closer
"Don't you dare touch her, Malfoy" Cedric threatened

Malfoy paused, glaring at Cedric before relaxing his face again

"You'd better run along now" he said, "you wouldn't like her spotted, would you?" He added, nodding towards Hermione.
"What's that supposed to mean" Hermione asked
"Granger, they're after muggles" Malfoy said, his eyes glinting maliciously, "D'you wanna be showing off your knickers in midair? Because if you do, hang around...they're moving this way and it would give us all a laugh"
"Well then it's a good thing Hermione's a witch then, isn't it?" I snarled
"Have it your way, then" he said, "if you think they can't spot a Mudblood, stay where you are"
"You watch your mouth!" Ron yelled, and Hermione quickly pulled him away for, Malfoy.
"Never mind, Ron" she said., "let's go, we've got the find the others"

Hermione, Harry, and Ron stomped away, but I stood there glaring at Malfoy, itching to hex him.

"Come one, (y/n)" Cedric said gently, taking my hand and shooting Malfoy a glare as well, "we should go"
"Yeah (y/n), listen to your little boyfriend" Malfoy taunted, and I turned around to punch him but Cedric kept a firm hand on my back, steering me away
"Don't listen to him he's just trying to get a reaction from you" he whispered into my ear, and I calmed down at his touch. We hurried to catch up with the others, just as Bagman dissparated.
