RED FLAG RANKING: 7
TYPE: Intimidation/Emotional Abuse/Segue into Physical Abuse
Has your partner ever put a hole in the drywall?
This red flag includes: Punching walls, pillows, and other inanimate objects.
BONUS FLAG: If they throw a punch in your direction, without actually hitting you, it's still a 10. Leave as soon as possible.
One can't always control whether or not they have anger issues, but it is not noble or "good" to feel like an uncontrollable issue justifies this behavior. You are not a therapist (and even if you are, ethics prevents you from acting as their therapist). You should not feel at all obligated to stay in a relationship where you are in danger. Unless they actively seek therapy and cease this behavior immediately, there is absolutely no salvaging this relationship. Be safe and get out while you still can.
Remember, if they can hit a wall while thinking of you, it's only a matter of time until they hit you.
