"We'll take Mags with us ma. Jason and Sookie are enough without sticking you with a toddler as well. We'll be back later. Thank you for watching those two." Corbett said before kissing his mom on her cheek.
Michelle finished strapping Magnolia into her car seat and got into the passenger seat as her husband started the car.
"It's such a relief to have a break from the mind reader. I mean, we're accepting that's what she is, right? There's nothing mentally wrong with her. I mean the doctors of course say otherwise but I think they're just mad that she can read their minds and lets them know it." Michelle said to her husband.
"Don't talk about it. This is supposed to be a peaceful break from her. We're going to have fun today. Aren't we Mags?" Corbett asked his little one.
He glanced at her in his mirror then his eyes went back to the road. He gasped and slammed on his brakes at the same time his wife screamed. There was a man standing in front of their vehicle and was now leaning down on the hood. He looks through the window between the parents straight at the toddler as he breathes the sweet scent in. He vamped to the side and was about to tear the door off to get to Magnolia when a burst of light occurred and then Magnolia was gone. Warlow went into a rage as he drained both Corbett and Michelle. He knew the Fae line ran through Corbett but he was surprised to find it ran through Michelle as well. No wonder that little one smelled so good he mused. When he was done he created a flashflood to hide the evidence and disappeared.
In a safe pocket of Faerie
"I got to her just in time. We'll keep her with us and train her to use her magic and how to fight before we return her." Claude said determined.
"We must keep her in this safe pocket away from the Queen and Claudine and the others who would ruin her." Claudia said.
"Agreed." Claude said.
It didn't seem that long as years passed by as Magnolia grew learning to know who she really was. She knew that with both her parents having diluted Fae in them it was enough to make her a halfling. Claude and the others explained her siblings weren't as lucky. They were diluted like their parents but not as diluted. Claude lets her know that her older sister will be a telepath and able to use photosynthesis but that it will come at a price. The more she uses it the more she'll lose her light and just be human. Her brother only has the ability to attract others to him as he's the most diluted of them. She was more powerful than both she could control nature and she would know things. She wouldn't have visions which would make her a prophet. But she would know things, strong intuition if you will. She would be able to communicate with others telepathically as well but not actually read minds. They explained that she would be able to even use the telepathy with vampires when even her sister Sookie wouldn't be able to do that. They gave her a Fae made sword to protect herself that will be unseen until she needs it.
She was very good at fighting by the time they deemed her ready to leave. They had one last gift for her. They had witch connections and gave her something that would prevent vampires from being able to smell her. She'd smell like a diluted version like her siblings.
"If you ever need a safe place you know where to find us. Don't forget your way." Claude said.
With those words the Fae world began to fade from Magnolia's sight.
A/N: Magnolia is five years younger than Sookie who was seven when she lost her parents. Magnolia was 2 at the time so when she returns that makes her 20 as Sookie is 25 at the start. Also, I'm changing Michelle's appearance. She's not blonde so Magnolia won't be either. I wanted to further separate her from her siblings.
