I woke up the next morning feeling like a new woman.
I had a crush on George Weasley, and I accepted that.
After I got ready, I headed to the Great Hall and see Angelina and Alicia already there, they must've just gotten out of practice. As I was sitting down the three boys sat down, and I looked at George with a slight blush on my cheeks. I was hoping he would look up at me so I could give him a smile, but he just stared at his food with a blank expression, refusing to meet my eyes.
This made me a bit quizzical, because it was a complete 180 from the way he had always acted around me.
Conversation continued on, and even though George partook, he never once acknowledged anything I said or looked my direction.
After a while, I'd had enough.
"I better get to the Hut. The Clabberts are still training and need as much attention as possible," I said in a cold tone, quickly gathering my things and storming across the grounds to Hagrid.
He immediately noticed my sour expression and stopped me before I got to where the Clabberts were being kept.
"Now you hold on 'er Missy. What's gotchya all in a huff this m'rnin'?"
I sighed at the half-giant. "A boy."
"Ah, that Weasley feller?" he asked.
"How do you know about that?" I said, honestly surprised.
Hagrid shrugged. "The teachers see a lot more than you students 'xpect. What's 'appen'd?"
I sighed and let my shoulders drop. "I like him," I admitted, "but this morning he's completely ignored me for no reason. The only thing I can think of is that he doesn't like me back and is trying to be distant so I don't like him anymore. It's so confusing."
Hagrid nodded and patted my back. "I wish I could help yer out, kid. I probably have less love experience than you do."
"It's okay," I said in a dejected tone. "At least we have our animals."
Just as I said that, Bullet and Fang started playing tug with a piece of rope, play growling at each other.
"They're better compan'uns anyway," he joked.
I smiled, feeling a bit better about the whole situation.
A few minutes later, it was time for the third year's Care of Magical Creature's class. Hagrid left me to walk the kids into the edge of the forest while he got the Hypogriff.
The class went by pretty quickly, and seeing little Malfoy get hurt made my mood boost up as well. Just as the students were all leaving, Ron ran up to me and said, "My brother wants to talk to you, he told me to tell you."
My heart started beating. George wanted to talk to me? "Which one?" I asked, hoping to keep my heart in check.
"Fred, I don't know what about though so don't ask me."
I sighed and nodded my head, sending him on his way. Of course it was Fred.
That afternoon during lunch Fred approached me, asking me a simple, "Are you okay?"
"What do you mean?" I asked him.
"You seemed pretty tense this morning, I wasn't sure if it was because of me or George or-"
"No, no," I said cutting him off. "I was just in a mood. I'm fine."
He seemed a little wary of my answer, but eventually accepted it and headed back out of the hall.
