Chapter 7

Umuwi ako ng bahay na sawi ang nararamdaman. Napilitan akong magpasundo dahil hindi ko yata kayang mag-bike.

"What happened, Grey?" Agad na salubong sa akin ni Mama nang makarating ako ng bahay.

I looked at her and forced to smile, "Masama lang po pakiramdam, Ma." Niyakap ko siya at huminga ng malalim. Gusto kong magsumbong at umiyak pero ayaw ko silang pag-alalahanin.

"Are you sure?" she confirmed.

Dama ko ang pag-alala sa tinig niya.

Humiwalay ako ng yakap at ngumiti sa kaniya. "Opo. I'll be okay once I had a rest."

May pag-aalinlangan parin sa mata niya ngunit sa huli ay tumango na lang siya. "Have you eaten?" Umiling ako.

"Alright, go to your room and change your clothes. I'll bring you food."

"Thank you, Ma..."

Umakyat na ako sa kwarto at agad humilata sa kama.

I stared at the ceiling with a heavy heart. Naalala ko na naman ang nangyari kanina. I just can't fathom why Zeus hates me so much.

Nagkakilala na ba kami? Maybe when we're still kids? I don't know, I can't remember.

But I want to know the reason why Zeus is mad at me. If my feeling can't be reciprocated then I'm okay having him as my friend. Hindi yung ganitong kulang na lang ay gusto niya na akong mawala sa mundo.

I sighed and stood up to get my things. Nagpalit mo na ako ng damit bago ko kinuha and headset kong nasira. With a heavy feeling, I checked it once again.

I guess I can try to bring it to a repair shop.

Tinago ko na ito at sakto namang kumatong si Mama. I immediately opened the door for him at tinulungan siya sa dala niya.

"I cooked your favorited food..." salubong niya.

I smiled and hugged him, "Thank you, ma. Would you like to eat with me?"

"No, thank you. I made that for you. Besides, I have to see your father."

"Do you want me to go with you?" I asked.

"No, baby. I'm fine. Just take a rest for me so we can have dinner together later, okay?"

Ngumiti ako at niyakap ulit siya. "I love you, ma. Ingat po kayo..."

He kissed me on my forehead and stepped out of my room. After I locked the door, agad akong umupo at sinubo ang dinalang pagkain ni Mama.

And with that, my heavy heart starts to ease. I finished my food and checked my phone.

I started researching my new school. I'm trying to see if I can get new information about Zeus but unfortunately, there's no information about him aside from being the son of the owner of the school.

I did a few things such as cleaning my room and doing my usual routine — reading novels.

Nagising na lang akong kumakatok na si Mama sa kwarto and inviting me for dinner.

"How's school?" My dad's baritone voice echoes in our dining room.

"Fine, Dad."

"Did you meet new friends?"

Uminom muna ako ng tubig at tumingin sa kaniya.

"Not really, Dad but I knew two people na po."

"That's great. You should work on making friends para hindi kami nag-aalala ng mama mo sa 'yo."
