Y/n's POV

I was in no way popular, but I wasn't invisible nor a loner either. I'd be invited to parties - though I never actually went to any. I was the type who got people gifts on their birthdays, comforted them when they needed it and held study groups as well. Although I never saw myself as popular, I knew I stood out, I had been confessed to more than I can count on my 2 hands.

Of course I turned down each one, there was only one person I wanted to think of me in that way, though it seemed like they might not like me back. Maybe I should be the one to confess ..

~*~ getting books from locker ~*~

As I go to get my english poetry book, I notice an envelope. My name on the top. I open it in, hidden from the view of passerby's.

Dear Y/n,

This may seem old fashioned and might not be what swoons you, but I didn't know how to convey my feelings while making eye contact with you.

All you have to do, meet me at the bench in front of the school after school, after clubs are over. I don't think I'm confident enough to say anything so I hope you know what to do.

From, a friend

Holy heck.. This has been the most creative confession I've gotten yet. Of course I'll say no .. unless its C/n.. but who's to say it will be?

~*~ class ~*~

I'm sitting in my maths class, recapping past subjects like percentages and ratios.. If I didn't understand this, I'd probably be crying right now. I look to the front of the class where C/n sat, the way he/she/they looks when they were concentrated was admirable. I decided when I was younger to study and study, that's the only reason why now I have the knowledge I do.

They must have felt me staring holes into their back because he/she/they turned around. I moved swiftly and turned to look back out the window, towards a family of birds in a tree.

"Y/n"

I turned and my teacher looked at me, looking sort of annoyed.

"Is there anything outside more important than what I'm teaching in class now? Why not answer this question to show you were actually paying attention"

Plotting to murder my teacher (mentally and just as an idea of course), I stood up to write my answer and working on the white board. It was a wordy question that mentioned something about a percentage increase over time.

I wasted no time, and went back to my seat almost as fast as I stood up.

"Correct, carry on"

~*~ after school ~*~

I went to the shop before coming back to school, I bought some marshmallow to snack on while I wait for the clubs to finish. I saw different club members walk out, a few of them greeted me on their way out. Some people with their partners, or friends going to hang out.

"Hey Y/n", it wasn't the fact I heard my name that shocked me, it was that the voice belonged to C/n. I could see his/her/their face looking flustered. C/n sat next to me, I guess they left the note..

"Hey, do you want some?" I ask, holding my marshmallows out in front of them. I smiled and looked into their eyes, mentally telling them I felt the same.

"Thank you"
