For a moment,
when the moon illuminated your skin,
and my heart was made aglow,
you smiled at me with your eyes
and there was no escape
from your most delicate embrace.

Our fingers untouched,
yet our hearts made pact
that these eyes that watched,
refused to silently react.

Whatever pains have you?
Whose jagged scars deceived you?

It rings through my ears
like the bells that shook for answers;
too much, and too fast.
You say, "Don't leave me."
How could I?
A gem hidden underneath the rubbles of a once
Paradise,
submissively granting vultures
to stab, to rip, to skin.

Yet all I could stare was the image of a dusted
portrait,
pleading to be cleaned, pulled, and saved,
from its millions of innocent sins.
