FACTS

The Cure is a british Pop, Rock, Wave and Gothic band that was founded in 1976 in Crawley, England under the name "Malice". After some members left, the band renamed itself to "Easy Cure" in 1977 and finally to "The Cure" in 1978. Since then Robert Smith has acted as band leader, composer and singer. He is also the only permanent member and is best known for his teased hair and made-up face.
The band is also considered to be groundbreaking for the Gothic Rock genre, but has always resisted such classifications.
