Well congratulations. You've conquered the Prologue. I'm proud of you and happy you're still indulged in this sad story.
CIVER Reboot was created as an electronics company that created new computers, or in many cases, rebooted old ones. The Head Director, whose name was Robert Finckley, was head of operations and a CEO.
Let me tell you firsthand, I've seen Robert on multiple occasions. He was a short stubbly guy, with brown hair swept to one side. He personally loved wearing any kind of suit. He was born in 1973, so he was thirty years old at this time.
Robert always lived on the poor side of any town, and in this case he lived in a small town in Arizona called, Wittenburg. Robert had very abusive parents as a kid. I saw him everyday after school let out, after 3:30. His parents always found some way to punish him. The longest time I had seen him was that poor day at 3:47 he had got home.
Late by only two minutes.
And what had he been punished for? Well obviously being late was the main cause. But seriously it was two minutes. The moment he walked into the door, his dad was waiting for him. He looked down and threw his backpack. He looked up to his dad.
"Do you have any idea what time it is?!" He shouted to Robert.
Robert ran to his room, and his dad chased him the whole way there. His dad slapped him the moment he got into his room. Robert went sprawling to the floor. The first time I had saw him that day. I completely ignored any other distractions of pain; I knew I had to stay to deliver more pain. Robert stood up, but he was shaken up.
He sat against his bed, and his dad's glasses were staring him down. Robert stood wide eyed, looking at his dad's toupee. Mr. Finckley had lived in a very rich side of Wittenburg. Although, he got drunk once in Las Vegas and blew all the money he had ever earned. Bankrupt off of Craps. He could never ever earn that money back, and when he figured out that he blew it all the next week, his wife was furious.
I was there for her rant, she had mental pain, I think. I couldn't exactly tell. Her husband was fearing of getting physical pain. Although it didn't happen to him, it was still an awful fear.
But let's get back to poor Robert. His dad's mustache was small, and just below his nose. It was a small patch. Not to make a historical reference, but if I did say something about that mustache, it looked a lot like Hitler's. Don't go off on me now, because I saw Hitler on multiple occasions, but that's for a different story.
His dad was so angered, that he kicked his own son in the shin. Robert yelped, and dropped to the ground. His dad grabbed his hair, and pulled it up, and made Robert look at him.
"Don't ever be late again! Promise!?"
He shouted.
Robert welled up, but he would not cry, no he would not cry. His dad dropped his head and Robert's head dropped to the floor. He laid there for a good amount of time, and he'd stay in that household until roughly 9 PM.
Then he'd sneak out and hang out with his later to be employees. Because remember, Robert ended up being the CEO. His teachers always said he'd be nothing, his parents said he'd be a big failure, but the people who did believe in him, were his friends. And the only way he could escape from the pain was going to that arcade across town.
He always snuck out, every night and met his friends at the "Monkey Gym". The Monkey Gym had every Arcade game you could ever imagine. And it was open 24 hours a day, and at nights it was barren. Especially on school nights.
Robert quietly snuck out of his house and jogged the 4 blocks to meet his friends.
When he arrived, his best friend, Lloyd McCutchen was sitting on the curb right in front of the Monkey Gym.
Lloyd was on the richer side of Wittenburg, and he blew all the money he ever earned as well. Except on something different. Lloyd was addicted to cigarettes. Unless he was at school, he always had one in his mouth.
Lloyd was short, and he was so skinny that you could see his rib cage through his shirt. He had a blonde flat top, which was always kept combed to the left side. He did no sports, but he hardly ever ate, no matter what, he was never forced to eat.
Then there was Leo Green. Who in spite of his name, he had long hair, which stretched down to his shoulders, and it was always dyed an emerald green.
The rest of the five people were just guys who wanted to be cool and challenge them in anything. This is where Robert began to find his passion for technology.
Lloyd always walked in first, the rule-breaker who had robbed three local markets and has yet to be caught by anyone, other than myself.
When inside, Lloyd never disposed of his cigarettes, but he fed the machines 50 dollars each.......
Each person there got 50 dollars of tokens to spend. It usually kept them playing until about 3 AM.
Robert was a king at every game there, so many had challenged and failed. I remember only once that Robert lost. It was in a fighting game there called, "All-Stars Rumble".
For gods sake, the number three player in the world came to visit that small arcade, and he asked who the best was, and everyone said it was Robert.
They both stepped up to the game, both choosing their best players, and it came down to the third round, which Robert ended up losing, sadly. Leo was fantastic at All-Stars Rumble, but he couldn't match up to Robert's skill.
Robert was always exhausted the day after each Monkey Gym night, but he didn't care. He could escape from his life. His parents never bought him anything for his birthday, but one person bought something every time.
And the best gift he ever got was a Super Nintendo, provided by Lloyd McCutchen. Lloyd cared about Robert, and he had fought against Robert's parents on multiple occasions.
If Mr. Finckley wouldn't let Robert hang out with Leo and Lloyd, Lloyd would argue with the man and force him to let Robert do what he wanted.
Mr. Finckley had power, but it always seemed like Lloyd was on top.
The Super Nintendo was bought for Robert, in his high school year. Out of the three friends, Robert was by far the smartest one. Considered the smartest student in Wittenburg City as a matter of fact.
That's why his parents were so abusive. They thought he was better than what he really was. He always brought home A's no matter how hard the test, quiz, or paper was. But life was hard for him, poor Robert.
Now you're aware of Robert's life. So continue to follow me to the next part, if you will.
