Chapter 10

Nino's POV:

I woke up at 2 a.m exhausted. Usually I wake up at 4 with Mari to start training but I couldn't sleep. Last night went horrible. Now that I think about it, I haven't been hanging out with Alya as much. I need to make it up to her but Mari, the royals, and the assassins come first.

I can't go back to sleep so I might as well just go wake up Marinette. We can just train for an extra two hours or so.

I opened the door to Mari's room and was surprised to see her wide awake talking to Tikki.

I walked in and she looked toward me. Then she said, "I couldn't sleep. I slept for like maybe 3 hours or so but then I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep."

I nodded and said, "Yeah same, I couldn't sleep.................... Hey, to let off some steam, you want to go train for an extra two hours?"

When I said that her eyes lit up like Christmas lights and she nodded her head really fast. I laughed and left to go get ready for the day.

Marinette's POV:

I lay awake in bed thinking about what had happened a few hours ago.  I couldn't stop thinking about the hurt faces of Alya and Adrien especially.  I sat up and just stared off into space not knowing what to do.

Then Tikki flew up to my face. and with a sad smile tried to comfort me. I smiled gratefully toward her and just sat there while she comforted me.

As we sat there I heard the door open and looked up to see Nino coming inside and sitting at the edge of my bed. Then I said, "I couldn't sleep. I slept for like maybe 3 hours or so but then I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep." Then Nino said, "Yeah same, I couldn't sleep.................... Hey, to let off some steam, you want to go train for an extra two hours?" 

I brightened up at the idea and nodded my head really fast as if it would fall off pretty soon. Nino laughed and then left to go get ready.

I looked toward Tikki and she nodded her head toward me and said, "You should go, it'll help you let off some steam, and plus, it's pretty cool watching you train so hard everyday." I thanked Tikki and got up to go change.

*Time skip*

Once I got changed, I went to the basement where the gym is and started punching the punching bags before Nino got here.

You must protect them.

I'm your best friend.

How can we trust you.

I punch harder than before.

You're so pathetic.

You're a liar.

You need to tell us what's going on.

We can help you.

With each insult that people have said toward me, I punch harder and harder with tears threatening to spill from my eyes, but they don't. Instead I stop punching the bag all together and suddenly get hugged from Nino.

I look up and see Nino look at me confused and concerned. Then I say, "It was nothing I just needed to get rid some steam like you said." and smiled. Nino smiled back and started training.

Usually during training we start off with sparring, so Nino and I both got into positions and started fighting just like how we did at the school gym but this time with weapons. The weapons that we had weren't sharp so if you get hit by one, it wouldn't puncture you.
