The shadows never leave. Following her as she walks down the halls. Slowly creeping towards her as she navigates the school. Only backing off once she is in the comfort of her bed. It doesn't bother Elle. She's used to the shadows surrounding her life. Days with the shadows turn into months, and months turn into years. The shadows never leave. They stay by her side. Never. Leaving. Some nights it scares her. Why wont they go away? Why are they there? When did they get there? Her insecurities disappear by morning. The darkness once again sticking by her side. The shadows don't bother her. No they don't. Not at all. Elle likes the shadows. She likes them. Everyone can see the shadows, right? The shadows are normal. Everyone sees the shadows. The shadows never leave. Why should they? The shadows are normal. Shadows are normal. N-O-R-M-A-L. Normal. Right?
