Douxie and I squint at the Green Knight as he draws his sword over his shoulder like a batter would a baseball bat. The knight slashes his sword diagonally through the air and onyx shards shoot out from the sword's glowing tip.

"Look out!" Merlin shouts from behind us. I tackle Douxie to the ground and Merlin grabs his staff, speeding us off into the clouds. My brain is telling me that it's safe and I can let go of Douxie, but my body won't obey. So I sit there, clinging tightly to him and not saying anything like the awkward person that I am.

"Gosh, guys! Get a room!" Steve teases us.

"Shut up, Steve," Douxie snaps.

"Yeah, you don't see us teasing you about your alien-girlfriend!" I say and he shuts up. My face is warm, and I know that my cheeks are bright pink. I quickly let go of Douxie and sit up, pretending to be interested in the damage done to my clothes. Nothing has changed since I crashed into the shadow mephit; my black jeans are still ripped at the knees and all of my clothes are scuffed and dirty. I sigh and look up for the ship's railing to pull myself up on. But Douxie has already stood up and he reaches his hand down to help me up. I feel my cheeks heat up again and am grateful for the dark skies. I bashfully, take his hand, and he pulls me up off the ground.

"Thanks, Man Bun," I tease, dusting myself off. He chuckles, "I don't do that anymore. See?" He shows me his hair "No bun. Besides, I should be thanking you. I probably would've gotten hit if you didn't tackle me."

"Oh please, you would've been fine—I only panicked."

"Sure you did, Shortie."

I look right into his beautiful, amber and green eyes and shrug, "Fair enough."

He laughs a bit and I lean forward on the golden railing. Though I'm not as short as I was before, Douxie's still got a good few inches on me. So, while my nickname for him doesn't necessarily make sense anymore, mine still fits me perfectly. I close my eyes and smile against the wind as it whips my hair back.

"AAAWWESOME SAAAUUUSSEE!!" Toby yells from the head of the ship, and my smile grows wider. The boys up front whoop and holler with glee. Apparently they've never ridden on a flying ship before. I open my eyes and stare out at the stars and fluffy clouds.

"This is so cool!" Toby exclaims.

"What the heck is that?" Steve asks, drawing everyone's attention to a huge, brilliant floating castle. I stand up straight, but keep my hands on the railing for balance.

"Welcome, young squires, to Camelot" Merlin announces.

"Camelot?" Toby says. "As in ancient-old-people-times Camelot?"

I gaze fondly at the castle and sigh happily, my smile not leaving my lips. This is where I met Douxie, Archie, Hornbeam, and Merlin. This is where I first began learning magic as one of Merlin's apprentices. This is where I fell in love with my best friend. This is home.

"Excuse me" Steve pipes up, "I have a question. How is this castle flying right now?!"

We slowly pass by a gigantic green gem, glowing with golden rings spinning and flipping around it.

"The heart of Avalon" Merlin explains. "The magic keeps Camelot aloft, powered by time itself." He jerks the ship up to a tower on the castle.

"Sir Galahad, how look the skies?"

"All quiet, my old friend!" Galahad waves at us, I smile and wave back. Merlin instructs him to keep his eyes on the horizon, and we continue on to the front of the castle. Steve starts screaming and I cling to the railing.
