(Myuu - Something's Wrong)
"You need to eat, Raiden," Kuai is almost pleading at this point. The Thunder God hasn't touched his food at all, and now it's gone cold. "I can't," is all he responds back with.
"Why?" Hanzo asks, entering the room with a worried look in his eyes.
"Because," his mind flashes back to the fight, seeing the pure anger and hatred in Fujin's red gaze, "I feel like I failed as a brother."Kuai frowns, knowing what that feels like. "I can't eat," Raiden goes on, "The only reason I sleep is because I'm exhausted. I told (Y/n) things would be okay, but I only said that to make (him/her) feel better."
"You can't give up on Fujin," Hanzo murmurs.
"I know I can't," Raiden sighs, forcing himself to eat.
"He didn't give up on me, so why should I?""But you need to recover first," Kuai states gently, touching the ice pack on Raiden's side, refreezing it solid. Raiden winces, feeling the pain of his fractured ribs subside.
"How did...Fujin react?" Hanzo asks, kneeling down to pick up the empty tray.
"That cursed amulet changed him really fast. Corrupted him in less than a minute. I saw the anger in his eyes, the resentment." Raiden sighs."Why did he look resentful?" Kuai asks.
"Shinnok's Amulet is known to bring out the worst emotions in the holder. Whether that be lust, greed, envy. Fujin might have been angry with me about not helping him raise (Y/n), which made the corruption take hold of him a lot easier." The Thunder God adjusts the ice pack."What if we try to beat him?" Hanzo thinks out loud.
"Don't be ridiculous. If he can beat Raiden into a three day coma, he'll most likely kill us without breaking a sweat." Kuai answers, worried.
"And I'm guessing teleporting around to subdue him won't work either," Hanzo mutters.Raiden nods. "Since he is the God of Wind, he can detect changes in the air, especially movement. By the time you get behind him, he'll already have his sword or crossbow out and aimed at you."
"Comforting," Hanzo states sarcastically."But why did he take the Amulet off of you?" Kuai asks.
"Probably to get the corruption away from me. He even said, 'let it take me instead,' gripping it to his chest right before he attacked me." Raiden explains, feeling tears burn in his blue eyes.
"Gods," Hanzo curses, looking troubled.
"How horrible," Kuai whispers.Later that night, you meet Raiden outside, who is now well enough to walk. Hanzo urged him to get some fresh air, since his room is in the back of the temple.
He picks you up, grunting slightly in pain, and places you on his lap. "Everything okay?" He asks you.
You nod. He adjusts himself in the chair, looking out at the dark horizon. It's nighttime now, with the sky mostly clear."Your father will come home soon," he forces himself to smile slightly, putting you at ease.
"Is Papa sick?"
"Sick?"
"Yeah. Papa told me you were sick before he left. He told me he would be back with you."
Raiden thinks about what you just said. "Fujin..." he trails off, looking back up at the stars. He wanted to say more, but can't find the courage to tell you the truth.
