“we broke up.”
everyone gasped. war’s eyes widened at news, he wasn’t able to process what Yin just said. in fact, his feelings were having chaos. a mixture of pity and happiness with an adrenaline rush, it was all too much to handle.
“w— what? why?!”
yin swallowed thickly, tears brimming in the corner of his crescent shaped eyes. breathing heavily, he shakes his head.
“i’ll tell you everything later, Phi. finish your food and meet me at the student lounge.” he says, giving his friends one last glance before disappearing from their sights.
mark and prom shared a look. “now i'm starting to get curious about the events that happened in his life while he was gone.” gun said, sighing. he looked at war who was spacing for the umpteenth time this day.
“oi, P’War. don’t overthink too much! yin said you can meet him later and you guys will talk things out.” gun clicks his tongue, rubbing the senior’s back softly.
war sent them a fake smile, getting up from his seat as he started to walk away. he didn’t bother looking back at his friends.
while walking, he accidentally bumped into someone. the person yelped, and he looked down. it was Rain.
“nong Rain?”
the girl smiled weakly. “sorry, Phi.” but before she can run, war was fast to grab her wrist and pulled her back. she sighs, raising her head.
“what is it, P’War?” her voice cracked at the end of her question, yet she manages to send him a kind smile. war can’t deny the fact that she’s beautiful.
“can we talk?” the young brunette nodded hesitantly. war pushed the both of them in an empty cubicle, hiding themselves inside.
he gazes back at the junior female, pursing his lips. “not to be nosy, but why did you and Yin broke up? i mean, it’s just unexpectedly fast. did something happened?”
rain lowered her head. “i— i was the one who decided to end the relationship, Phi. i feel like Yin doesn’t love me anymore, and he showed obvious signs.” she sobs.
war’s eyebrows creased. “that’s. . . that’s pretty impossible, Nong. as far as i can remember, Yin loves you very much. there are just times that the relationship will go off and then on. it’s a normal thing! you both just gotta hold on to each other.”
“also, talk to him and fix this issue before it’s too late.” he pats Rain’s head softly, leaving her alone.
he went directly to his apartment, not caring about attending their afternoon schedules. he was tired and his social battery was low.
he leans against the door after slamming it close, hiding his face on his palm before finally letting his tears escape. he can’t take this anymore.
how pathetic of him to be the reason why yin and rain will get back together again. he’s a hypocrite, and will always remain as one.
war sobbed silently, tears continuously pouring from his eyes and down to the cold floor. surely, crying his heart out has been a thing nowadays. it has gotten so natural.
what did i even do to deserve this?
