Elsi's POV

Today is the day. We're taking down M.O. regardless. As everyone's assembling their various weapons, we all stop to say a prayer and have a few moments of silence before all hell breaks loose. Bruce cleared me to go and Thor doesn't want me to. I need to do this. I need to be there when we take them down.

"It's a liability. You could be injured or worse. I can't live without you," Thor says, pulling me away from everyone else.

"I know. But I need to do this. I want you to know that if something happens to me, I love you more than words can describe. You've made these past months absolute bliss and I wouldn't want to be with anyone else. I know that's corny and mainstream, but it's true. You've made a boring life interesting and worthwhile and I love you for it," I reply.

Thor wraps me in a bone crushing hug and kisses my forehead. I breathe deeply and inhale his scent that I've grown accustomed to. His strong arms loosen and he kisses my lips as if his life depended on it.

Someone behinds us clears their throat, ruining the moment.

"We should be leaving," Bruce awkwardly tells us.

I laugh and kiss Thor one more time, "We're coming. Let's go kick some ass!"

Bruce, Thor, and I meet up with the other Avengers and we board the quinjet. The tension leading up to this fight is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Everyone stays quiet, preparing for the battle that's about to occur.

I don't pray very often, but I spend the whole flight praying to God for our safety, as well as my own. I warned everyone about M.O. soldiers' fighting skills as a whole, I hope my teammates remembered. I'm most worried about Brock. I know he'll recognize me and come for me first.

As we approach the base I trained at, the enemy starts firing at us. Clint lands the quinjet and we hurry out. M.O. soldiers are quickly approaching us. We wait for them to get closer then attack.

One soldier runs up on me and tries to punch me in the face, but I catch his hand and twist it, throwing him to the ground. He gets back up and I punch him hard, knocking him out. Another soldier runs up on me, a woman, and she pulls out a knife. I quickly knock the knife out of her hand then knock her out, too.

I look around at everyone else and get a hard blow to the back of the head. I fall face first to the ground and roll to the side before the soldier can kick me in the ribs. I push myself up, feeling a little dizzy. One hard punch to my assailant's face and I knock him out.

I feel warm liquid running down my neck, so I touch my fingers to where I was hit. My fingers come away bloody, but I don't have enough time to do anything about it, for another soldier is attacking me.

I punch this new soldier a few times, but he doesn't get knocked out like the rest. He grabs my wrist as I throw a punch and flips me onto my back. I stumble to my feet before he can kick me and do a roundhouse kick to his abdomen.

He gets knocked back a few feet, but charges back at me like nothing happened. Before I can react, he tackles me to the ground and sits on top of me. He pins my arms and punches my face several times before I pull them away and punch him in the nose.

Blood starts pouring down his face and he pulls a knife from his boot. He drives the knife towards my face, but I catch his arm and knock it away. The soldier punches me in the stomach, then uppercuts my jaw. I respond with a punch to his already-broken nose, causing him to cry out in pain. I land a few more punches before he gets one in.

He knocks me to the ground and I scuttle to the knife but he gets to it before I can. I kick his legs out from underneath him as he's trying to slash at me. I kick the knife away again and he tries to get it back. I sit down on his chest and pin his arms down with my legs. I punch him hard three or four times before he's knocked out.

The rest of the Avengers take down their soldiers and we run to the base. More soldiers pour out and we fight them quickly, getting inside. We split up and run down the empty hallway, looking for any soldiers left. Tony is planting bombs as we run, the place is set to blow in 20 minutes. As Tony finishes planting the bombs, we encounter Brock and a few more trainers.

"Well well well if it isn't Scout and what's this? The Avengers? It appears we have a traitor in our midst," Brock remarks, grinning evilly.

"Not really. I didn't betray anybody," I answer coolly.

"You betrayed me," he responds, a look of hurt crossing his features.

"There was nothing going on between us," I reply.

"You can't deny that there wasn't something between us," he says quietly.

"I can. There was nothing between us," I tell him.

"You're going to suffer the consequences then."

He runs at me, but I throw a punch and hit him in the cheek before he knocks me to the ground. Brock punches me in the face four or five times before I get away. Brock's men are fighting the Avengers around us.

Brock slams me into the concrete wall, making everything go black for a few seconds. I hit him while I can't see to give me a few seconds to gain my eyesight back. While he's down, my eyesight comes back and I land more punishing blow that knocks him out.

Tony is getting frantic--the bombs are set to go off soon. Cap and everyone else but the 4 of us in this hallway are in the quinjet, waiting. We take off at a dead sprint through the the hallway. We make it out of the compound with plenty of time to spare.

We watch the explosion in the air from miles away and breathe in a sigh of relief. I know the fighting isn't done yet, the leader of M.O. wasn't there. He's still out there, along with a small portion of the organization.

The Avengers and I know we're not done fighting. We have to be ready to fight again at a moment's notice, but for now, we're going to relax and wait. Time is of the essence.
