I laid in the bed watching Christian smile in his sleep. "Bae come look". I waved for amir to come over . He walked out the bathroom with his toothbrush still in his mouth

I waved again smiling ."Look at him". Amir kept brushing his teeth smiling "Don't be spilling toothpaste na"! I yelled pushing him back. He laughed walking away .

I pulled out my phone recording Christian. He look just like Mir omg i'm so jealous. I laid on my back opening a text from jaylen . "Heard you had the baby, I'm happy 4 you D😘" . I playfully rolled my eyes texting him back "Thanks".

Amir loaded his gun up looking at me . "Where you going" ? I asked . He kissed my forehead "You know". I grabbed his hand "Be safe amir". "Baby I will you know this".

He kissed Christian goodbye walking out the room. As soon as Amir left nicole came walking in. "What you doing here "? I laughed looking at her

"Girl I came to see my nephew". She took her shoes off getting on the bed . "Well he's sleep and i'm not waking him". She rolled her eyes looking at christian sleep.

"So how you been with the whole birth and baby coming home"? Nicole asked . "Actually I been good as fuck amir's mom came to stay a week and that helped us out a lot".

"And your mom"?? She asked looking at me weird . I heavily sighed "I wasn't really planning on going down there". Nicole's sucked her teeth "Girl don't do that".

"Let her see christian and I know your sister wanna see him too, she been texting me". I laughed "For what"? "She misses you Dej like for real".

"Go and see them you can even bring me along because I don't mind coming"... "Ugh I'll think about it".

Nicole clears her voice taking the lint off my leggings "So I got some bad news". I looked at her .

"The police are opening the case back up". "What case"? I said nervously. "Derricks case they think jaylen did it because derricks folks been going around saying it".

"What"! "There's more"... Nicole mumbled . "They got more evidence and dna and jaylens fucking dna ain't on nun".

I sighed "Don't tell me amir- " I paused seeing christian open his eyes . Nicole looked at me "Amir wanted me to tell you".

I wanted to cry so bad right now I just couldn't believe this . "Amir swore he had people cover this shit up nicole". She shrugged .

"So where is he now nicole"? I asked getting worried . "He had to go to the courthouse then to talk to whoever was helping him cover this shit up".

"Oh my god, why wouldn't he tell me this". Nicole rubbed my thigh trying to calm me down "He just didn't want you to worry".. "So he tells me after I give birth"???!!!! I yelled

Christian started moving around crying . I picked him up holding him up to my breast . "Why would he tell me after I had Christian nicole"? I asked her

"Deja he literally just found out like a week ago he wanted you to at least have a week with christian before telling you". "It's better than waiting later and you finding out at the wrong time".

She was right. But it's like we were just doing so good. I really had faith that we could finally be happy here, with christian.

Once nicole left I got in the bathtub with christian curled up on my chest . I massaged the hair on his head as amir walked in. "hey". He said. I looked at him then back at Christian sighing .

"You straight"? He asked . I stood up grabbing the towel off the counter "Yeah". I mumbled walking out . He sucked his teeth watching me put on my robe .

I dried Christian off waiting for whatever amir had to say . "What's wrong deja". I wasn't finna sit here and have a attitude and not tell him what was up. "Nicole told me already".

He looked at me already knowing what I was talking about . "Baby I wanted to tell you myself it's jus-

"I don't wanna hear it amir we can just figure this out". "Right"? I added . He just stood there looking at me . "Right amir"? My voice cracked

I grabbed my hand but I snatched it away waiting for him to say something. "Say something"! I yelled at him . Christian started crying squirming around .

Amir stepped forward trying to get him but I stopped him picking Christian up myself . "So you not gon let me hold my son"? Amir said . I whipped the tear from my cheek walking into the living room .

I wasn't mad at all. I was just extremely hurt . I didn't want mir to go through this again especially right after I just had his baby... who's gonna be there for Christian besides me

Amir walked over touching the back of my shoulder . "Deja". He said . I turned around looking at him . "How long"? I said bluntly

He sighed "3 days". My heart dropped as I looked at him . "3 days amir"?! "Baby I know it's not much time-

I cut him off just bringing him into a hug . He gently kissed my neck as I cried softly. "3 days". I mumbled looking up at him
