Rain

11 3 2

The rain hits the roof hard

As it pours on the street

Children cry

Children weep

As they wish for the rain to go away

So they can play outside today

But I don't want the rain to be gone

I don't want the sun to shine

I want to sit here all day

With tea in one hand

And a book in the other

The rain brings calmness

Peace

Serenity

The slow mornings

And the quite afternoons

And while I admit the sun can be nice

It's not what I want tonight

And so here I will sit

With tea in one hand

And a book in the other

I shall watch the rain

Go through its fit

And that will be it
