A/N - A special request for a special someone. I hope you like it chic! 🌸

——————————————————————

You and Adam were in the car on the way to the hospital. It wasn't anything serious, just a checkup.

You bounced your leg nervously, unable to contain your nerves. Adam placed his hand on your knee to try and calm you down, but it didn't help.

"Calm down, Ashe. Everything is going to be just fine." He tried to reassure you, but you weren't having any of it.

"What if it's not though? What if we've just got to this point and this is where it ends?!" You knee yourself that that was just the worst case scenario, you weren't thinking about what could go right.

"This isn't the end and you know it." Adam replied, looking back into the road.

That was the thing with Adam, you could argue as much as you wanted but he'd never once be at a loss for words. It was more of a compromise between the two of you, you would always agree to disagree and maybe that's why it works for the two of you. You were both completely content with each other.

"We're here." Adam spoke, flicking your nose to bring you out of your thoughts. "You were miles away!" He laughed softly.

"Oh, sorry." You chuckled along with him, stepping out of the car and letting him lock it.

You walked around to his side to find him holding his hand out towards you, you smiled and gratefully laced your fingers with his.

"Ready?"

"Ready." You nodded. The pair of you headed inside and got checked in and sat down on the chairs in the waiting area.

Your nerves returned and you found yourself playing with Adam's hand.

"Y'know, if you play with my hand any longer it's gonna go numb." He joked with you.

"Stop being stupid." You rolled your eyes, a goofy smile plastered across both your faces.

"Me? Stupid? Never." Adam shook his head, a quiet chuckle leaving his lips.

"Ashe Goddard?" The midwife shouted, pulling you and Adam out of your little moment.

You looked towards Adam and he nodded reassuringly, standing up and taking your hand in his.

"I think you know what to do by now." The midwife smiled warmly, "You get yourself up on that bed there while I get everything set up." She smiled again before leaving you to get yourself up on the bed, but not without Adam's help.

You were laid back on the bed and you glanced towards Adam with a worried look. He quickly took note of your expression and placed his hand on your shoulder, rubbing soft circles on it in an attempt to make you feel better.

"Right, let's see your baby then!" The midwife said cheerfully.

You nodded nervously as she put the gold gel on your stomach and began the scan.

After a while of the nurse not saying anything, you glanced towards her with a worried expression etched onto your face.

"I'll be back in one moment." The nurse swiftly stood up and walked out of the room. You turned back towards Adam and grabbed his hand in yours shakily. He looked up at you and whispered, "It'll be ok, I promise."
You nodded, tears welling up in your eyes.

Soon enough, the midwife returned with two photos.

"Well, my suspicions were correct." She smiled.

"W-what do you mean?" You asked confused, the tears in your eyes threatening to fall at any second.

"Congratulations to you both! You're having twins!" She smiled brightly and handed you the photos. "Now, I'll let you get yourselves together and I'll see you at your next appointment!"

You both thanked her before she left. Once the door was closed, you and Adam both looked at each other. Tears stained both of your cheeks. You'd never seen Adam cry so much.

"Are you happy?" He asked, placing kisses all over your knuckles.

"Very." You nodded, more tears silently running down your cheeks, which he kissed away one by one.

You pulled away and raised your eyebrow at him, "Shopping?"

He quickly nodded, "I think we'd better!"
