Chapter 7: Yule Ball

"Good morning," Cedric kissed my cheek. "Yule Ball is tomorrow. Can you believe it?"

"Can't wait to see you in dress robes." I grinned.

"Can't wait to see you in a dress...can I see you in a dress now?"

"No. You will have to wait." I wrapped my arms around his neck.

He let out a content sigh then pressed his forehead on mine. "I'm so lucky to have you."

"Me too." I whispered then shut my eyes.

I wish things can stay this way forever.

Until I heard a voice.

"That's sweet, Draco."

"It's cold out here. Aren't you cold, Hermione?" Draco asked softly.

"Well," I watched her grab his hand. "You're pretty warm."

I groaned then buried my head on Cedric's chest.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"Uh—you're pretty warm..?" I awkwardly replied.

He laughed. "You're pretty warm too."

"Let's go eat breakfast. I'm starving."

As we were walking, dad approached us.

"Professor Snape," Cedric gave him a nod. "Good morning."

"Diggory. May I speak to my daughter for a moment?"

"Of course, sir," he turned to me. "I'll see you later."

"Bye." I mumbled sadly.

"Y/N, follow me." Dad said.

We went inside his office then he brought out a beautiful dress, but this isn't the one I sketched.

"It's beautiful, but—"

"I know, I know," He handed me the dress. "It was your mother's Yule Ball dress."

My eyes widened. "Dad, it's wonderful and all, but are you sure?"

He looked away. "I'm sure."

I hugged my dad. "I love you."

"I love you too."

I approached Cedric. "Hey, I..."

I paused when I saw a Ravenclaw talking with Cedric.

The girl frowned. "I'm still upset, Ced. You promised me, remember? That you will ask me out?"

"Cho, that was a long time ago. I have a girlfriend now. Oh, and weren't you fawning over Harry Potter while we were together? Well, he is yours now. What more do you want?" He replied.
