chapter 2 resumption

It wasn't a long drive from home to school, I always had resumption fever , like serious fever but it was like my temperature increased when I saw the gates of air Force girls military school Jos which was formerly called air Force girls comprehensive school .we drove in, the school premises was crowded with both old men and women chattering students increased even teachers and even officers like anwar and what !Muhammad Anwar.the place was buzzing with the  unorganized conversation which the crowd yelled at each other , resumption for girls was the day when all students resumed because the consequence of late resumption was not something to joke with ,in fact we all knew that there was once a time of our seniors Cassandra who had resumed late and got what she deserved ,On the fateful day she resumed on getting to school our commandant squadron leader Hk lawal issued her to cut portions around the field and as I can clearly remember she washed plate after every school meal and also washed all the school toilets till vacation, it was no wonder then why the school premises was full it was a day for every big girl  to showcase  the kind of car she came in , the kind of box she dragged  in and the particular happy day for friends that have been long apart and also a meeting day for gossips  who are not going around doing the short 10 days break ,where everyone looks washed and well-kept except for some people who would never look clean even if they were washed by all the water in the world some like us the reping girls had new set of things for school including uniforms and boxes while some still wore their old uniforms which were worn out .The senior officers were given seats by the administrative block which was by the side of the hall. It was used for the purpose of receiving visitors such as this general  and his daughter haneefah ,who looked perfectly Hale and hearty and were also seated in the section reserved for men _men who had thesay in theimportant affairs of the country. General AT apart from being one of the most prosperous and respected officers in the Nigerian military was also a senior advocate of the supreme court of the country .He now looks as his congregation around him the others looked up to notice that the commandant group captain HK lawal had arrived. He paid complements to our parents and all the students there with me were signed in to the school immediately while other students stood waiting in queue for them to be attended to .we  parked up our things outside the hall ,the birds chatted merrily up on the trees as if they were delighted to have such a crowd of guests in their territory. I turned, they were other officers who just stood  unruffled.' Daddy please, who are those smart officers asked haneefah.' mind your business and stop looking at offices around' answered the general "that is not why we are here"." daddy but  they just look nice. she pushed her father's knee to get  his attention. "they look great, rich and they have red badges on their rights arms "shut your mouth you brat" "haneefah learn respect, firstly how do you feel after asking about men" but daddy " 'shut up' AT shook a finger at haneefah." if you don't keep shut you will regret.  Haneefah saw how stern the expression on her father's face was and she knew that if she did not 'shut up 'he would make her regret. He was not like mummy in  anyway she would almost hold her breath  if I desired, while the other always made her _ haneefah to do exactly as he wished she knew her father's temper and his firmness ,But she always
  insisted on him taking her to school because of the convoy that
always consisted of five flashing and expensive cars but now with so many people around haneefah knew that she needed to go to the hostel and get the gist she missed during the holiday .AT, saw that she was not ready to spend much time around him he cleared his throat and wondered what type of a girl he had for a daughter he indulged haneefah a lot in all he wanted to please her and he loved her but as far as discipline was  concerned he wanted to treat her with no regret.This haneefah man had once when she was 16 years answered a phone call from her boyfriend in the officers mess and when Anwar had tried to speak to her she poured him cold cocktail and it cost him  a lot of self respect and now she had started again ,if any of those regiment had heard her over there he turned ,he thought I wonder how they will look at me and her ,they would have all gone with the impression that she had interest in men not only that they will also see that mother jamilah did not train her well .He sighed ,soon the tattoo bell rang .The bell  was rung  for headcount on  students who had arrived in school .It was a large bell which was hit with metal sticks made for the purpose . The sound of the bell meant that students who had already been signed in should move to the school dining hall and it's clearly proved that it was already 5:00 in the evening and real-time of resumption was over I looked at my daddy he smiled and it's meant a goodbye he called me back haneefah "please read for your sake don't make me do what I have in mind ".ok sir" I wanted to leave now, he smiled if you need anything with anyone especially academically  meet Anwar, he  has been posted here. he  then turned and left .I left my stuff by the hall and walked down to the dining hall well it was resumption nobody stole   during resumption.Haneefah watched the students  as she walked past them   she halt  as she had heard her name from afar she smiled just the perfect person she was looking for  muhassim  hugged  habba bezzie- bezzie means best friend. and that was how the conversation started "look at that fat one over there ,only  ten days she became an egg roll "which one, muhassim asked ? ." can't you see that one with the filled body ?I mean that one that is shaking all the flesh in her body ! Oh, yes' said Muhassim I can see her very very well, she's in black diamond nation. 'but she can't dance , added haneefah . I didn't even know she's the girl that they plan on picking as a godmother in her ss2 . Haneefah laughed I am sure  that  the crew must have seen something in her  if not who will really go pick such a thing as godmother. Haneefah you  won't stop this your mocking attitude .we both laughed  as we entered the hall . I turned to Muhassim." sister please grab me at least five junior girls my  things are by the hall. she smiled "my things too are there and I have already grabbed some confused jss three girls from here, don't worry. There was a sudden silence in the hall I looked up only to find everybody's eyes by the door well I couldn't believe they were giving side talks .l looked up to see flying  officer Anwar m .gamus girls will not kill me.Just then he saw me and came closer" I met your dad "I made a mental note , like was he expecting me to answer him,- ok I spoke and he smiled" I'm sure you were happy to see your godfather" he maliciously smiled and said "well he told me to take care of you and boost you up academically ". 'well thank you my life was better before you got posted here" , the words I said had hit him" okay then  I'm leaving he turned and left.

well extension classes  started just the next day after our resumption. I turned to Muhassim well that useless maths teacher give us take home assignments for 10 days. which one ? asked Muhassim  ,"well acm jodo   that very one that always looks miserable ."oh ,yes said Muhassim" but where were you this holiday, the man has been posted johh. The smile on haneefahs  face was so bright then  she spoke  "God thank you, that means there is free period. "Well I don't know Muhassim  said as they entered the class .As haneefah sat down she yawned Muhassim turned to her  " you didn't sleep, you just resumed and you've started your jams business , haneefah this  boys are useless start  having sense "haneefah turned to her ' jams! Jams! Jams ,you know that as a bloody jaw  you can't do without them ,look if ashraf broke up with you I'm sure nur won't do the same I have my pride, okay and by the way I did not bring my phone to talk to them I brought it cuz I can't live without social media" just as Muhassim   was about to speak a dark shadow was spotted by the door it was a slim tall figure of the dark or should I say chocolate skin Anwar , Muhassim smiled, it's maths period , He is the officer kicking maths and this friend of mine hates  him as he entered the class ,our class captain jidah  gave the command: "situp" ! ._well sit eazy" he smiled  looking at Haneefah who did not sit up at all .he spoke to her , "haneefah sit up ,you have to pay compliments to your instructors any......, well his next sentence was interrupted by the song stuck with you by Ariana grande and Justin Bieber . haneefah follow me outside now was his next statement, he kept a very serious face . This was the beginning of her problems why on earth would this guy be in her life, like why !" Bring out the phone and pick up " that was the first thing he said before he looked at me again deep into my eyes, is your brother aware? I looked at him and said no, just then the phone rang again ," now pick the call" we were in his office now so he sat down and stretch his leg, I had no choice I looked at the screen it was nur  so I picked the call. He was still looking very serious" put the call on speaker"  l was confused I didn't know what to do I placed the call on speaker 'hello bae' he  spoke with his softcalm voice ' hi'  I couldn't talk much as I was scared of anwar telling my brother who trusted me so much  "uhm  nur,  I'm kind of busy now I'll call you later "I was trying to save myself but the  unaware guy was causing more trouble "come on sweetheart don't tell me you're angry because I went out with finah  I promise she's not as  dope as you are , neither will she  be as pretty as you are or as sexy as you are I'm really sorry but I'll call you when you are less busy. and then he hung up I was scared to look up a lot of questions went to my mind .Oh God will he tell my dad and my. yeah I was in deep trouble, I wondered what my holiday would be like if my dad found out I took my phone to school  to talk to Jams .I quickly prayed silently , I wasn't the best but I know that Allah  answers prayers ."haneefah let's have a deal , it's either you submit  this phone to me and tell me what I want to hear or I will tell Aslam  and your dad. He paused , the expression on your face doesn't look like you want the deal .he said it too fast  ,he is malicious." No yaya please I'll give you the phone " I said this as soon as he turned" ok fine this is half progress so who is this nur ?I answered "he is a jam" he said but   the relationship is more than that so is he your new boyfriend," not really we're just entangled" i said sharply, he looked at me but the last person I knew was Abdul gaffar ,well he said that so fast . "okay fine "he said" goodbye" I went to my room that night ,I cried ,I missed everything cuz this anwaris very useless now why did his posting bring him here . now l am doomed.
