*Hotch's POV*
I woke up on my head in the SUV. We had been hit by a semitruck on the interstate. It took me a minute to get my bearings. Luckily, we were the right way up in the SUV, but I knew we had rolled. I checked myself for injuries and found I was bleeding on the right side of my abdomen. It didn't hurt to move but I didn't want to so much of it. I looked at my hand and saw I was still interlocked with Mikey.
"Mikey," I said and let her hand go. My voice came out hoarse and I coughed. The SUV was smoking, and Mikey wasn't responding. I saw my phone laying by the windshield and reached for it to call for help. When I moved, my side shot fire through my body. I grabbed it and put pressure on it. I tried again and grabbed it. I took a deep breath and looked at my phone. The screen was shattered, and it wouldn't turn on. Damn it, I thought.
"Sara," I said again louder. She still wasn't responding and that worried me. I looked over at her and she had a blood coming out of her ears and a large wound on her head. I vaguely remember her putting her phone in her breast pocket, so I reached for it. Pain shot through my side again, but her phone might work. I grabbed for her phone and found it in the pocket still. Her screen was also cracked but it turned on. I quickly called 911.
"911. Where's your emergency?" the operator answered.
"This is Special Agent Aaron Hotchner with the FBI. We've been hit on interstate 58 heading east toward New Enterprise Airport. We got hit by a semi-truck. I have minor wounds, but my partner is bleeding from the head and isn't responding," I said. I was trying to keep my composure but with Mikey not waking up, I was worried.
"Ok sir," the male operator said, "I have an officer about half a mile away and the EMS will be there in 7 minutes. Can you keep talking to me?"
"I can try. Please hurry. She's not responding, and I can't move to see if she is ok," I said. Mikey needed to be ok. I just got her back, and I was not about to lose her again.
"Sir, you said your injuries were minor. How can you not move?" the operator asked. I looked down at my side again. There was more blood now but there wasn't any pain unless I moved. I took off my jacket and pressed it onto the wound.
"I have an injury to my right side that's bleeding. I don't know how much blood I've lost," I said to the man. The phone started ringing and it was Prentiss. I merged the calls and answered.
"Hey, Prentiss," I said.
"Hey where the hell are you guys? Sara said that you would be her in a few and that was 20 minutes ago. I can only ground the plane for so long Hotch," Prentiss said. I had to laugh at her demeanor.
"Prentiss, we've been in an accident. The 911 operator is on the line. He'll explain it," I said. All the talking was taking a lot of energy out of me.
"Hello ma'am this is Ian and I have and officer and EMS in route to your people."
"Holy shit, Aaron. Are you ok? Where's Sara?"
"She's...she's over here," was all I could manage. When I didn't answer fully, Ian thankfully did.
"His partner is incapacitated. Ma'am, are you also a member of the FBI? I could send the officer your contact information for further information?" Ian said.
"Yes, that would be fine. Hotch, where are you we'll come to you?" Prentiss said.
"We were on the interstate. I don't know what happened. Emily, I can't lose her," I said. I saw the red and blue lights come up from the left. "Hey, Ian the officers are here."
"Ok sir. I would like tostay on the line to get Miss Prentiss' information." I hear Prentiss rattle offher information and then vaguely heard the officer say something before I lostconsciousness.
