The three first years sat on the steps of the Jujutsu Tech High School. To the furthest left, Megumi was scrolling on his phone, a look of disinterest glued to his delicate features. To the furthest right, sat Nobara, her head resting in her chin as she stared borely at the sight in front of her. In between the two, sat Yuji, who leaned back on his palms, his gaze fixated on the cloudy blue sky. When the four of you made yourselves known, all three of their heads snapped forward to look at you. Yuji's eyes widened at the obscure sight.

Four of the second years stood in their view, and Yuji's eyes slided from left to right. Maki introduced herself first, arms crossed with a glare being sent Megumi's way. Panda next, who waved his hands in a friendly manner at all the first years. Toge, who stood beside Panda, his body stiff and his eyes flickering between the students in front of him. Finally, Yuji's gaze landed on you.

You stood with your sword hung on your back, your arms were folded in front of you neatly, and your gaze was unreadable to him. Your soft and quiet voice was melodious to his ears though, as you said your name quietly and nodded your head at them.

You tried your best to ignore the hard stares coming from Yuji's direction. His eyes were glued on you, and honestly, you weren't used to this kind of attention.

Normally, when you and the other second years arrived, all the attention was given to Panda—rightly so. You found it most comforting when you were pushed to the side and barely regarded, it made you feel more safe and sound. But today, it was different.

Nobara noticed Yuji's longing stare, and she elbowed him in the head. "Don't stare at your Senpai like that!" She bellowed, causing him to cover his ear closest to her.

"I wasn't staring, you idiot!" He sent a glare her way, which caused them both to bicker with each other some more.

Megumi shook his head at the two of them and turned his attention to his upperclassmen. "Not to be straightforward, but what do you guys want?"

Maki clicked her tongue. "Still as charming as ever, Fushiguro."

It was Panda who spoke next, his calming nature shining through particularly during this tense moment. "We just wanted to meet our new underclassmen. As Senpais, it's our job to look out for you guys."

Nobara and Yuji stopped their bickering and looked towards Panda, a bright glimmer in their eyes. In unison they stood in front of him and bowed. "Such a kind Senpai." They chanted together.

When they were done their weird bowing thing, Yuji turned his attention to you and Toge, who had been relatively silent this whole scene.

Yuji leaned in close to Toge. "You're awfully quiet."

From behind him, Megumi shook his head. "He's a cursed speech user, he can't speak. Inumaki-Senpai can only communicate using the ingredients in rice balls."

Yuji's eyes widened and a large grin appeared on his face. You found yourself flickering your eyes away as he did so. "That's so cool!" He said excitedly—his upbeat energy was almost blinding.

After Toge, he slid over and stepped in front of you. His hands going into his pockets as he leaned down toward you. "You're quiet too... do you have the cursed speech also?" He must have forgotten you introducing yourself already, you thought.

His gaze was fixated on you so intensely, and you hated the way his undivided attention was making you feel. All you could do was shake your head, and squeeze your hands together harder.
