If crush in Horde: You got mildly injured during the battle, and the princesses retreated and you got separated. Before they could find you,, Crush saw you and took you back to the Horde for intel.
If crush is a princess: You got hurt in a battle the Horde was losing, and despite Scorpia's pleas Catra gave the order to go on without you. Crush felt sorry for you and took you to Brightmoon as a prisoner but also healed you.
And...
Takes place in early S5, pretending Scorpia did not get chipped. Scorpia, since their kingdoms formerly had an alliance, was given a mission to go capture the elusive, secretive fire princess. She was potentially extremely dangerous, and all hope would be lost if she got chipped and her fire powers went out of control. Scorpia's job is to find her, take her back to the current princess hideout, and to keep a close watch over her.
