(Akaashi's pov)

It hadn't been long since I'd graduated from high school and began to enrole at college.
i wasn't very sociable through high school, as I thought it was more important to focus on my studies and volley ball practice, its not like anyone wanted to talk to me anyway.
At first, I planned on doing the exact same thing here, focus on my studies, and play for the school's volley ball team. It sounded like a great plan.

I'll never forget my first time stepping into the gymnasium glancing around observing the pre-existing team and the few new people. It was dull, just as I'd expected, but seemed to be a nice place.

all of a sudden, something had caught the corner of my eye.

I turned to see these two, bold, owl-like eyes glancing in my direction. At first, I shrugged it off as it was a very regular occurance, people staring.

I turned yet again, but now towards the other direction and head to the locker rooms to change. As I began walking I could hear footsteps gradually speeding up behind me, getting louder with each step as they got closer to me.
I turned to see who it was as those amber, owl eyes caught me once again, except this time, they were glistening in the winters sun that had snook through the large windows of the gym.

"hi im Kotaro Bokuto, and you?"

I kept my head low, looking towards my feet as this was my first time in a while properly talking to someone who was my age, so my anxiety rose.

"K- Keiji Akaashi"
shit, I stuttered.

"well, its nice to meet you Keiji" the voice said.
it was a loud voice, bellowing but kind.
I noticed that Bokuto had paused so I peered up to see what he was doing, his eyes catching mine again, he was very close to me.
He then suddenly continued almost as if he'd been thrown back into reality.
"ah.. yes uhm well, keiji- Akaashi- shit what would you prefer me to call you?"

"anything is fine" I replied

"Right okay well, Akaashi was acctually coming over because I noticed that you were.. bright?"
he questioned his wording but continued on, but before he could say another word i cut him off;

"yes, I know, no need for you to point it out just like everyone else does" I snapped

looking up again, I noticed it, he wasn't just any plain guy.

maybe I wasn't the only one after all?
