Demons is an absolutely great song, one of the best ID even, in my opinion. Personally when I hear it, I think of Nico di Angelo (Percy Jackson) and how he doesn't really fit in and how he's always surrounded by a lingering darkness. This is probably why Solangelo is one on my favourite PJO ships because Will helps Nico see the light and the good things in life and the things worth living for and seeing Nico place his trust in someone after learning I learnt his backstory and the hardships he went through throughout a lot of Riordan's various series, you've got to feel proud of the guy.
Here I even made a list of all his troubles: -born in ww2 -mum dies -sucky father -memory wiped -stuck in casino for 70yrs -sister dies -rages and betrayal by ghost of minos -basically was the mvp in destroying kronos -hated by the chb members and didnt fit anywhere -couldnt tell the others abt camp jupiter and percy being there -practically saves percy and annabeths lives by talking to bob -went thro tartarus by HIMSELF smth tht ANNABETH AND PERCY TOGETHER barely managed to do -was chucked into a jar and suffocated straight after he went thro hell solo -hated himself sm for 'letting' percy and annabeth fall into tartarus -turned into a plant 💀 -forced to admit tht he was gay infront of cupid and jason who he barely knew -shadow travelled across the world nearly killing him -a second inside his head and reyna the praetor can barely handle it -meets his future bf during ww3 And you thought you had it hard.
I know for a fact that I've barely even scratched the surface because I haven't mentioned the Trials of Apollo at all. So now you can hopefully you'll understand why a lot of us sympathise with him.
