I sat in the chair in the hospital room, staring at my brother in the bed. He had his eyes completely closed, mouth partially open, and a blood-stained bandage wrapped around the top of his head. It was like this for a few days now. There wasn't much action out of him, save for a time his heart rate slightly increased for a few seconds.

"Hey."

I looked towards the hospital room door and saw Courtney with a depressed smile.

"Hey," I replied.

"How's he doing?"

"The doctors said he's lucky to be alive. But there's no way he can be the same again."

"What do you mean?"

"Mangle was stuck in there good. To get it out of him, they had to cut part of his brain out."

"Oh, God..."

"They claim it was most of the frontal lobe, which apparently isn't that important when it comes to breathing and all that."

"So...is he going to wake up?"

"With the right treatments, the doctors claim he should be out of this coma in about another week."

"What'll happen then?"

"Well, the frontal lobe is apparently where you get things like long-term memory and emotion. So it's going to be a bit of a challenge for him to continue living. Being on his own is pretty much an impossibility as of now."

"Oh...how are your parents taking this?"

"They're a mixture of heartbroken and pissed. They claim they would sue Fazbear Entertainment if the restaurant wasn't technically closed."

"I have a feeling the manager suspected something like this would happen."

"I'm sure..."

We both sat and stared at Jacob. The only sound was coming from the heart monitor next to him. I then deeply sighed.

"That could've been me lying there," I said aloud to nobody in particular. "I could've been the one with part of his brain missing. I could've been the one..."

"Jeremy, it's not your fault," Courtney told me.

"Mangle was going after me because I'm a guard," I replied.

"But your brother took the damage for you! That was his own choice!"

"And look where that got him..."

"But don't you see? You're here, completely unharmed! He saved your life without a second thought!"

"Yeah, that's true..."

"Jeremy...he loved you enough to get himself hurt to protect you."

I sighed again and rubbed my eyes. I could feel them getting wet.

"Anyway," she continued, "I wanted to show you something from today's paper."

She then pulled a rolled up newspaper from her purse and handed it to me. I unrolled it and looked at the front page. It was the 3 Toys all waving at the reader. The headline read:

ROBOTS SCRAPPED!

I then proceeded to read the article.

"After being open a few short weeks, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is closing its doors.

The new animatronics will be scrapped due to possible malfunctions, however the original characters are being kept in hopes of a possible reorganization of the company.

'It's a minor setback. We're confident we will reopen again, even if it's with a much smaller budget'- CEO, Fazbear Entertainment."

I then gave the paper back to her.

"Possible malfunctions?" I asked. "One of them turned my brother into a vegetable!"

"Like they're going to put that in the newspaper," she replied. "Fazbear Entertainment probably wants to save as much face as possible."

"Well, let's see...a child was murdered, 5 went missing, and a civilian was severely hospitalized. Do you really think they have any trust from anyone left?"

"Well, I'll definitely be surprised if it ever reopens again."

"Same here..."

We both turned back to my brother, not knowing what else to say. All I know is that Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has made a giant impact on my life in many ways. Here's hoping nobody else gets affected negatively from this place in the future.

Hang on, folks! It ain't over yet! There's a short epilogue coming up soon!
