When you fell for her despite me being by your side
I was badly hurt deep inside
I tried my best to suppress it, to hide
But, whenever I saw you with her the pain would arise
It took days, it took weeks
It took several months
Until truly I felt the pain subside
Until truly I felt I no longer held
A part of you deep down inside
